I’ve been using this trail runner since version 17 and have always loved it. But I must say the redesign on version 19 is spot on. I have already exhausted a pair and on to my second pair.

I hiked in Brooks Cascadias for years and loved them and then my feet grew enough that I needed a wide (I was on a 2-week hike and after a few days my feet started getting numb every time I put the shoes on). I tried several other brands for a couple of years that were ok but then I noticed that the women's Cascadia came in wide so I ordered a pair and they are absolutely excellent, everything that I remembered about my previous pairs except that my feet didn't get numb anymore, yay! Excellent traction on the famous New England rocks and roots, nice and cushiony (although I did add an aftermarket insole to help with this). However, the laces on these new Cascadias are absolutely dreadful. Shoelaces, you have ONE JOB and that job is to stay tied after I tie them. These laces fail at their one job - I had to retie them several times a day even after using a double knot AND a surgeon's knot. I finally pilfered laces off an older, different brand shoe I had and now my Cascadias are perfect. Hey Brooks, I don't remember having any issues with any of your older laces (and I probably owned at least 8 pairs over the years) - why did you change them???? I knocked a star off this review because of the laces, that's how bad they are. They're so bad that a super comfy shoe that I love dearly lost an entire star because of them. (Full disclosure: I bought them earlier this year so they are the 18 and not the 19 but looking at the photos here I can tell that they're the same frictionless laces that the 18 came with. No bueno, Brooks! Bad shoe company!)

Slightly too squishy

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

I’ve done 4-5 runs in these since receiving them last week. Pros- they feel lighter than the previous model. Fit is great for me. I have a more narrow foot, but developing a small bunion and they were ok in the toe box. Cons- the cushioning is on the squishier side. My joints and I preferred last year’s model that was a bit firmer. It seems like Brooks along w other companies keep going towards softer cushioning. I’m a PT, as well as runner, and feel this really doesn’t work for a people even though that’s the trend.

Great color, comfortable, slightly bigger

I loved this color but unfortunately this new model fit me bigger than the previous one. I had to return.

Awesome version!

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

I’ve used Cascadias for over 10 years for both trail running and backpacking, and this is easily one of the best versions yet. The 19s are stable, protective, and grippy, with just the right balance of cushion and ground feel. They handle technical terrain well and feel secure without being stiff. I love how light they are compared to years past! Great fit, no fuss — I didn’t have to adjust the laces once. I purchased my usual size 10 for running shoes (9 in regular shoes) and they fit well. I just hope Brooks adds more color options!

Great running shoe

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shoe has everything I look for in a running shoes. The fit is true to size and comfy. The shoes are lightweight and not clunky like I was expecting when I saw the sole size. The fabric is breathable which is helpful for long workouts and occasional puddles. You won't be walking around with a puddle in your shoes with these. There's plenty of padding in the upper shoe meaning it was comfortable from the start without having to break these in. These feel like all terrain shoes. They've got great grip that's kept me stable in slick conditions. Overall, I really like these shoes!

Intentional design - best Brooks yet

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several pairs of Brooks in my arsenal, but this one is the most rugged in terms of its "trailtack" soles - which isn't to say that I don't wear these in my neighborhood runs, because I do! But I also feel more equipped to take my runs from streets to trails in these shoes more than any of my others. I love a lot of the details on these shoes, especially things like how the laces loop in and out near the tongue of the shoe - it's an improvement over the traditional eyelet in my opinion. These are lightweight and yet sturdy - a perfect hybrid shoe. As with all my Brooks shoes, I'm apt to get these lighter colorways dirty quickly, but the fabric cleans quickly and easily.

Excellent Trail Running Shoes

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very impressed by the grip these shoes had while I was trail running. They might be the best grip I’ve ever found in a running shoe. They’re also incredibly light. The design was neutral, which is nice because I didn’t have to worry about it clashing with any of my running gear. I did find them to be a little tight. I usually wear a size 7 shoe, but probably would have been more comfortable with a 7.5.

Comfortable Fit with Great Trail Grip

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are incredibly comfortable—the cushioned bottoms provide great support and give my run a bit of a springy feel, which makes a big difference on long runs. The fit is just right, snug but not tight, and very supportive. The upper part of the shoe has a protective air mesh that lets my feet breathe, which I really love—my feet don’t feel hot or sweaty, even after miles on the trail or hot pavement. The outsoles are perfect for trail running—they grip really well and give me confidence on uneven terrain. I also love the way they look! I have the white ones, and they’re super stylish. I wore them during a color run, so now mine are covered in different colors, but they still look great and feel just as good. What I love most is how comfortable they are—they really make running more enjoyable. If I could change one thing, I might ask for a slightly easier-to-clean fabric, (I tried cleaning them after the color run, and the powdered paint doesn't come off). But honestly, that’s a minor thing. These shoes are a win in every way!

Comfortable and Fantastic!

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been wearing the Cascadia 19s for about a month and I am in love! They are SO comfortable. I feel like I'm standing taller when I wear them and walking/running feels easy - every step naturally moves you forward for the next step. The support is great and my legs don't feel stress when I wear them, which is a major highlight for me. The fabric breathes really well, and they don't feel narrow but are still snug. Added bonus: they look great and the colors make them easy to wear with anything! While I would love to wear these for more frequent road runs, the tread is better for trails. I'm so glad to have these!

Brooks Cascadia 19 -Women’s (Neutral) Coconut/Misty Blue/Ebony

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love these shoes. The Brooks Cascadia 19 in Coconut/Misty Blue/Ebony are labeled as “neutral,” and in person, they really are very neutral—which you will see in my photos. Online, the colors appear bright and bold, but in reality, the shoe is very subdued and some may not even notice there is color on the shoe except for the highlighter yellow sole (which I love). I actually prefer the real-life look, but the discrepancy could be misleading for some buyers. I think the current website images don’t do these shoes justice. In terms of fit: they’re true to size, but definitely seem better suited for narrower feet. They’re not ideal for wide feet, but my feet feel secure and supported with no slipping or rubbing. The comfort level is exactly what I expect from Brooks—cushioned, stable, and trail-ready. There is also a tab on the back of the shoe that makes them VERY easy to get on! The tab is much bigger than normal ones and you can easily fit 2 fingers in the rope type strap to pull the shoes on! Such a bonus! If I could change one thing, it would just be the color representation online. Otherwise, these shoes are just wonderful and so comfy! I wear them all the time, they’re incredibly easy to slip on, they hug my feet like a dream and they’re not heavy at all. I love Brooks and have had many of their shoes and these are in my top 2 for sure!!! Go get yourself a pair! You will not be disappointed!

Love my Cascadia 19s!!!

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I opened up the box, I was blown away by the design of these. The color combo is absolutely eye catching. They even caught my husband’s eye. I wear a size 7 in shoes and go up a half size for sneakers so the 7.5 was perfect for me. They fit like a glove and I wear them every day. I run twice a day plus walks with my little one and they have held up so well. My favorite thing about the Cascadia 19s is the material. Even in the crazy heat, my feet don’t feel like they’re overworked. They are well-supported. I highly recommend not just for running but casual wear too - you will get compliments. Don’t sleep on this pair!

Great running shoes

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was thrilled to receive the Brooks Cascadia 19 in the mail. Brooks have always been my go-to shoes for running, so these fit right into my collection. I typically wear a size 6.5 in shoes, but I always size up by half a size for running shoes. The size 7 in this particular shoe fit perfectly. They have just enough space to keep me comfortable on both longer and shorter runs across all types of terrain. The design of these shoes is top-of-the-line—they’re well made and offer great support. The mesh fabric makes them especially breathable. They’re also very comfortable. In fact, the comfort level is my favorite part! The lacing system is unique in these shoes, and I really like it. The elastic loops that are incorporated make lacing a breeze. I’m usually drawn to brightly colored shoes, so the colorway of this pair is a bit out of my comfort zone. However, they’ve been great for trail running and everyday wear since the gray/beige tones hide dirt well. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss big pops of color—they’re a little drab and honestly look like something my husband would pick for himself. If I could change one thing, I’d add more feminine colors, but that’s just my personal preference! The neon yellow accent is very neutral. These shoes check all the boxes for comfort, durability, and performance—I can’t wait to put lots of miles on these!

So comfortable!

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an amazing pair of shoes! I wore them on a long weekend trip to New Hampshire. My hubby and I do a lot of hiking/ trail running and we love to explore new places each time we go. I was beyond pleased with these shoes. The fit was true to size (I am a size 8), the cushion was supportive and made it feel like I was walking on air. Each step literally had a bounce to it. The fabric was breathable and kept my feet cool. I was comfortable and pain free despite walking miles each day through different types of terrain. The traction was really good too and I had no issue climbing rocks even when it was wet out. I do love the colors and felt the shoe looked really stylish on. The off white color did get a bit dirty from some muddy conditions though. I found that spot cleaning with soap and water did a great job at getting the dirt off. I would definitely recommend these- they are the only shoes I will wear on a trail from now on.
