This fine example of Albariño hails from Galicia on the north-west corner of Spain. Winemaker Katia Álverez of the highly respected Martín Códax winery selects the finest grapes from vineyards overlooking the Atlantic, where the warm days, moderated by cool sea breezes develop delicious flavours. Katia then keeps the young wine on its fine lees to develop a creaminess to balance the zesty lemon flavours.

This wine is perfect for a hot summer evening. I don't usually like Spanish wines but this one is better than any I have tried. It's fresh and so summery.

Sharp, zesty and fresh- perfect with fish- a great white from Northern Spain. More sophisticated than Vino Verde. First reaction maybe unsure but it's an acquired taste. Stick with it. Such a change from the ubiquitous Chardonnay's & Pino Grigio's
