What were your main priorities when designing your new swimwear collection?
The big thing was to focus on designing a variety of great styles for every figure. I also wanted to explore print and colour this season – the collection includes exotic palm prints, deckchair stripes and bright colours to really capture the feeling of summer.
What would you wear with your swimwear?
There is a gorgeous range of
beach cover-ups to wear with the swimwear, including a playsuit, a maxi dress and a ruffled wrap skirt, which makes it easy to mix and match. You can also choose jewellery to match the beautiful rose gold hardware that I like to use in the collection. My holiday packing essentials include an oversized pair of sunglasses and a glamorous wide-brim hat.
What do you look for in a swimsuit?
For me, feeling supported and finding the right fit are the most important considerations. We’ve used
designs from my Rosie for Autograph lingerie range as inspiration: the best-selling bra shape and the Beau plunge. If you feel comfortable, you know that you’ve found the right swimwear.
Has designing lingerie helped you when it comes to creating swimwear?
I’ve been working with the design team at M&S for over five years on my lingerie collections, which has developed my knowledge of garment construction, so I’ve been able to apply that to my design
process for swimwear. It helped me in my selection of materials for the collection and in the use of clever technology, such as the smoothing tummy support.
What are you most proud of in the collection?
I’m very proud of the whole collection but my favourite piece is the Bardot swimsuit, which is elegant, classic and will enhance every woman’s figure.
