Want to see the best new clothes from M&S? Then you need to follow the M&S Insiders on Instagram. Below, four of the team in the know share perfect pieces to see you into party season
The velvet suit
One way to stand out from the crowd this party season is to opt for a beautiful suit, and this luxurious velvet number from Per Una is high on our must-buy list. “This two-piece is truly heavenly: the colour, the fit, the feel of it,” says Dominique. “This is a true showstopper outfit. The co-ord can be separated for a more casual look which gives you more freedom when planning your outfits. Things like this shouldn’t only be worn on special occasions, they should be styled in multiple ways so you can get your money’s worth but also feel and look your best always!”

The sequin skirt
A sequin skirt can scream all-out party or be incorporated into a more casual look, for example teamed with a logo sweatshirt and trainers. Here, M&S Insider Charlotte has given it some evening vibes. “I’ve teamed the skirt with a black, glittery, lightweight jumper (perfect for party season and great for adding glamour to a simple pair of jeans), as well as fabulous heeled biker boots and my staple tuxedo blazer,” she says.

The printed dress
What could make more of a statement than a bold print combined with a showstopping colour? Insider Sam definitely approves, saying: “This dress is a true statement, with its snakeskin pattern and flashes of grey and electric blue. I love the silky feel of the heavyweight fabric and the pleats fall to my shins perfectly (this is a midi dress but as I’m only 5”2 it appears a little longer). I’ll be wearing it loads over the next few months.” Wear with heels to a party, or style out for the day with boots and an on-trend hat like Sam.

The slip skirt
If you’ve got a couple already in your wardrobe, you’ll be pleased to know the slip skirt trend is going nowhere this winter – and it’s the perfect piece whether you’re heading to the office or dressing it up for a Christmas bash. “Love a top-to-toe colour block look, so I’ve tried it myself with our pink cashmere jumper and gorgeous asymmetric slip skirt,” says M&S Insider Rachel. “Tonight I’m going out-out!”
