[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The jacket is soft and comfortable. The problem is the zipper. The zipper sometimes starts opening from the bottom. Then I have to unzip the jacket and zip out up again. Not so fun in the cold......

Why Does The Zipper Keep Breaking / Failing?
Originally posted on columbia.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this Benton Springs Jacket in a beautiful royal blue in February 2021 which I did not wear a lot. I had also bought another one prior to 2021. Both jackets had the same issue with the zipper teeth detaching from the fabric portion of the zipper about 5 inches from the bottom and going up several inches. In December of 2025 I sent back the jacket for inspection and was told it wasn't a warrantee item, which I understand. I would just like to know why the zippers keep failing. I spoke to a great customer rep who found other reviews documenting the same problem, hence I decided to add this review. I love the fleece jackets, but not that the zippers fail. I have other brands of fleece jackets, Talbots, and they have not had this problem. I just added another picture of another Columbia Benton Springs Jacket where the zipper teeth also separated from the fabric portion of the zipper.

Fabric feels cheap and plastic-y

The fit is the same as my older version but the fabric is not a soft fleece. It feels very plastic-y and weird.

A great warm and cozy jacket.

My MIL loves this fleece jacket (though had to exchange for a size up) as got this for her birthday. Beautiful vibrant color (clematis blue). A bit more of a fitted fit than a normal fleece jacket though. She loves how warm it keeps for the chilly nights that she needs a jacket but nothing super heavy.

Warm jacket- hair trapper!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used these fleece for over 10 years now. They hold up really well an are very comforting. The only downside with fleece fabric is it traps hair (dog hair, human hair, etc). I recently replaced my old fleece during the current Xmas promotion. My husband cuts his hair at home. His hair trimming towel ended up in the washer and dryer with my fresh new fleece. They are ruined. There is no savaging them. No lint roller or special tricks will save them. Hope my anecdote helps when deciding on your next purchase.

Absolutely deceitful! I realize different displays can have slight differences in color. This isn't even close. The picture is a beautiful blue, the product is dingy indigo. Pretty sure I'm sending this back!

The “black” is NOT black.
Originally posted on columbia.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered both the Benton Springs vest and jacket in black and another color. The quality construction is present, but neither of these items could be considered black. They are both a charcoal gray. When paired with black pants, they do NOT match. Why call it black when it’s clearly gray?

Good jacket for me in Calif.
Originally posted on columbia.com
This is a very good jacket for me in California. I order up a size so I can wear a vest or other item under for added warmth. Then I can unzip when getting too warm. The jacket is warm but probably not warm enough for very cold mornings. Love the zip pockets, princess seams in the back, elastic band to tighten around the hips, zipper up to keep neck warm, inside pocket.

Very good quality fleece. Thick and warm. I am size 14 but had to reorder a L as M was to tight.

Zipper breaks on EVERY SINGLE ONE I've had. I do not recommend....unless you figure out a way to replace the zipper.

Love the crushed blue color
Originally posted on columbia.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m in love with the crushed blue color offering. It is a really nice bluish/grey/green mixture of colors and is as pictured online. I have a few of these jackets-the fleece is always soft and has a nice thickness to it.

Perfect jacket. Weather not cold enough for a coat so this jacket does the job. Great quality at a great price.

I just received this in the mail and I got to say and pretty disappointed with the fit. I got a standard size XL, I’m 5’5”, and the arms are so long and baggy but the torso is super tight. I’m usually between L and XL and already owned a very similar fleece from Columbia I bought a couple years ago in size L and wanted something a bit loose and this XL fits exactly the same but with baggier and longer arms. And I should also say that went to the store the prior weekend and tried a ton of sweaters and jackets and literally all had a weird fit. This fleece wasn’t there so didn’t get a chance to tried on but should have known better. What’s going on??? This fleece was just ill fitting but same warm thick fabric as usual. Prices are higher but manufacturing is not increasing in quality. Bummer.
