Albert Bichot Aloxe-Corton Domaine du Pavillon - Single Bottle
Sorry, this item is no longer available
A dark ruby-red Burgundy with a bouquet of ripe fruits, wild flowers, bonfire smoke and toasted spices. In the mouth it is supple and smooth, with velvety tannins and sweet cherry flavours fading to stalky, more savoury notes through the finish.
The village of Aloxe-Corton lies in the heart of Burgundy Côte d’Or area, in between the revered Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuit subregions. Albert Bichot’s vineyards here are located on a clay and limestone slope called ‘Les Crapossuets’, which faces towards the southeast and gives the vines plenty of sunshine throughout the growing season. To grow fruit with the required concentration to craft a wine with such richness and intensity, Les Crapossuets vineyards are planted with a very high density of vines, which makes them work harder and naturally limits fruit yields. This wine was matured in a selection of Tronçais, Allier and Vosges oak barrels to advance the wine and further develop its complex flavours.
