Aesthetically pleasing but already splintering

Nice to use and aesthetically pleasing. Have been hand washing carefully and not soaking but it is already really showing signs of wear eg splintering. Disappointing but maybe to be expected at this low price?

Does the job
Ideal for the job, slightly tricky to clean, but I hand wash it and use a washing up brush to get in between the slats. I leave it to air dry on the draining rack.
