The leather is good quality and the shoe fairly comfortable, but the lacing around the heel is not connected to the lacing at the front. Hence a rather loose fit.

The backs of the shoes are very hard and rub the ankles.

I did not expect the laces to be so prominent the look like clowns shoes

I went to repair an older pair of deck shoes and the Timpsons agent wanted £95 to repair the sole that had come away from the shoe. So I looked to M&S and found this pair of shoes which, so far (3 weeks in) have worn comfortably and well.
