There is a lot to like about this coat. The material of the fabric is quite thick, is of a good quality and has a heavy feel to it. The coat has an internal lining around the shoulders which makes is slightly bulkier than you would expect by looking at the picture of the model. The length of the coat is slightly longer than other rain coats for men that you can get in the shops nowadays. Funny how every retailer has a large range of women's rain/trench coats in lots of different styles and materials but hardly anyone makes a coat like this anymore. The closest men's alternative is a Burberry at £1500.

At last a male trench
Yes, I recommend this
I’ve been looking ages for a standard male trench coat. There are loads in the shops just now for women but I couldn’t find one for a man in standard length or traditional colour. Stumbled across this one in M & S and it ticks all the boxes. Great trad style and colour, well made and a waxed cloth that repels rain. Job done.

Top quality

Really good material and it looks well made. I was tipped into buying it with a 20% discount but it probably justifies full price. I was a bit surprised by how heavy it is but it should be good in a storm, especially as much is lined making it quite warm. I bought a small (5'11) and the sleeves are still quite long, but the medium was huge on me.

Great quality. Check size

This item is beautifully made. It has a real quality feel and weight. I normally buy large and got XL as all the other reviews say it comes up small. I disagree with that. The XL is huge. It looks like I am wearing a tent. I will be returning it for a large or maybe even medium.

Good quality strong made
I bought this , helped by the positive reviews of earlier buyers. No doubt, the quality is superb, construction is solid as well. I am sure it will stand well in the rainy season ahead.

Head turner
This was an impulse buy when unexpected squally weather on an outing required an instant remedy. I didn’t know M&S had acquired Jaeger but this is a brand I have long admired and worn so I was delighted to find this beautifully designed and constructed garment on sale at less than £200. I absolutely love it. It is sturdy, incredibly versatile and dresses up and down. I’ve had several complete strangers compliment its look and they’re amazed to discover which retailer it’s from and its value-for-money price. The only caveat to add is that, as another has remarked, sizes are on the small side

Absolutely as expected from a great traditional Brand and it’s a purchase which I will continue to enjoy for many many years given the great British weather.
