I like the embroidery and colours but it doesn't suit people with short waists. The deep waistband means that flares out in the wrong place, which if your hips are a little larger, is not a flattering look. It would be nice if a fabric with a softer drape could be used.

This skirt is high end in terms of fabric and finish and cut - can't fault it – I've been looking for something like this. I love the length as I’m 5’8”. The waistline is very tailored and perfectly proportioned – no leeway therefore not for all unless worn a size up which I imagine would spoil the look.

Both skirts were exceptional in colour and style and cut. The material and colour combinations were just right and well worth £49.50. However the description online stated that skirt fit was just below the knee but when they arrived they were MIDI, It was with great regret that I had to return them to store as they were far too long. PLEASE make these skirts available in regular length,

At first glance I thought what a lovely skirt. The material is great but it was spoilt by the making of it . The seam down the back of the skirt was awful. The pattern was all clumped together without any gaps of plain material. I might have just been unlucky.

A beautiful skirt and true to size regarding fit. But oh dear, the length! I am 5 feet 4 and the skirt ended a couple of inches above my ankles. Such a disappointment as I bought this as a birthday treat. If only Marks and Spencer's gave lengths for all their skirts this would save such a lot of time and allow the customer more of a chance of buying a skirt to suit their height. I do realise that the website describes this item as "below the knee" which is technically true, but I could have almost swept floors as well! Despite this am I recommending the skirt, but only to my tall friends!

This skirt looked lovely on the website and it was lovely - until I tried it on. I'd ordered a 16 and an 18, and usually one is a better fit than the other. But on this occasion, there didn't seem much difference between them, and I flatly refuse to order a 20...!

I love the colour and sheen on the black/gold skirt. Good weight fabric but the lining is too small. The skirt is voluminous to the front and flat/fitted to the back. The fact that the lining is too small makes my usual size 10 unwearable. I'll purchase another 10 and see if it is a fluke.

I bought the black version, and love the autumnal gold/green color tones, the vintage styling and the overall cut. Like a previous reviewer, I really liked the pockets, too - very useful. The fabric on this skirt is less heavy and stiff than on other similar styles (such as the pale pink one), and drapes a lot better. It was true to size around the waist and hips for me. This is another M&S skirt that's too long for my 5ft 3in, falling to just above my ankles. I'll have to get a few inches taken off the hemline for a better, mid-calf look. It seems that M&S no longer offers a choice of skirt lengths to accommodate customers of all heights - very disappointing.

i have been looking for some time for a midi length skirt. Found plenty - some quite expensive - BUT NO POCKETS! This skirt is beautiful. A lovely classic flattering shape with the detail of the tie belt AND POCKETS :o) Excellent value for money. I am normally a 10, but did buy the 12 just because I like my skirts to sit just above the hips rather than on my natural waist, but it is cut to fit well either way. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to a few skirt-swirlingly-tastic outings in my lovely skirt!
