The unicorn of running shorts

So comfortable and flattering!

I love the fit they’re definitely a little “snatching” without being uncomfortable. I got a medium, and they fit perfectly. I’m 5’4” and around 140 lbs for reference. Really happy with these shorts!

Don’t Buy

They ride up so much / fold up on your legs. Tried outdoors and treadmill. Could not wait to finish running to take off.

Fine for training runs, not race day
Originally posted on Nike
Despite what the reviews said, I ordered my regular size instead of sizing up as suggested. I’m 5’3” / 125 pounds and usually wear a small. The small in these shorts fit well. They were only slightly tighter than other similar shorts, but the product name includes the word “tight” so that is obviously intentional. Like all Nike products, the quality is excellent. My only issue is that the legs ride up a bit when you run. Not a problem on short training runs, but I won’t wear these on race day.

How can a sports brand make such bad running gear.
Originally posted on Nike
The dit is ok until you try to actually run. They ride up SO bad. Instantly. Also I have a dark purple color and they manage to show every single drop of sweat. The waist band material is too thick so if you actually run hard, it gets way too hot. Pockets aren't tight enough so a phone bounces. Just overall not good at all.

Terrible for running

Nike do better
Originally posted on Nike
Why are the only women’s running shorts available 4in?!?! Do better Nike some of us would like running shorts that don’t ride up. Men shouldn’t be the only ones with a reasonable length running shorts style leggings!

Love these!
Originally posted on Nike
I was a bit hesitant to order these due to many reviewers saying they ride up, but I love the Nike Swift leggings so much i decided to give them a try. They are great. I sized up to a medium because the waist runs a bit small on these. They stayed in place and my phone didn’t bounce in the pocket. They are comfortable and just feel great on. I would love to see a version of this short in a longer inseam as well! Maybe a 6 or 7” inseam.

Ride up instantly, chaffing
Originally posted on Nike
I was hoping that in a 5” length these shorts would prevent thigh chaffing. Unfortunately they ride up instantly—well before the running starts. I should have just gone for the 3” and just used body glide to avoid 2” of material bunched up—so not comfortable.

ALMOST good. How about a redo?

I’ve put several miles in these so this is a fair review. What I liked: 1) they’re not insanely high waisted, a hard thing to find these days; 2) pockets are great, and 3) material feels nice. What I did NOT enjoy: the pant legs don’t stay put. Maybe if I had beefy running legs they would stay put, or if I had less of a gut and could fit in an XS (I’m 127lb and 5’ 5”). Will be returning.

Doesn’t prevent chafing
Originally posted on Nike
I have thick thighs and have bought 1 pair of running shorts that were perfect. I think Nike discontinued them so I searched for their next best option. Given that these are running shorts and longer length I assumed they’d be perfect I was wrong. They roll up so much the chafing was instantly. Ima medium in all my Nike bottoms and they fit well all around so I think it’s certainly the material that needs fixing. These are NOT good running shorts. Even with the phone in the pocket nothing kept these down. Very unfortunate.

Size up

Size medium does not fit like and 8-10 these fit more like a 4. Sizing way off. Shorts ride up too much making it uncomfortable to wear.

Almost…but not quite 😕

Let’s start with the positive; The material is great. As advertised, it is fitted but not too fitted. The waist is just high enough and has a drawstring that assures me that these sagging is not going to be an issue with these shorts. The water bottle that I carry during long races fits into the side pockets. The negatives: without even going for a test run, I can tell that these shorts are going to ride up. I don’t think that it’s simply the 4 inch length, either. These are women’s running shorts. Whomever designed these did not account for the fact that women are not simply smaller men. When we run, we develop muscles in our legs and our shorts need to have enough room to fit those muscles! I am talking quads and hamstrings here. And yes, we come in all shapes and sizes. I am 5’4 and 119 lbs. I am not super skinny, but I am fairly lean and have developed muscles with years of training. The bottom of these shorts hit right in the middle of the thickest part of my leg. If there were an elastic grip on the interior of the leg it would probably fix the issue. Or just make the legs wider.

Not a great fit

I didn’t like these at all, sorry. The pockets were baggy and the shorts felt loose. Sent them back.

Sad day :/
Originally posted on Nike
I wanted to love these soooo bad. But after the first try on, they were super unflattering on my waist and butt, which I was willing to look past because it’s just a run and would get over it haha. I did a long run in them but was deeply unsatisfied — they rode up the entire time and just uncomfortable, spent a majority of the run picking them out. Now i know not to get 4” - or maybe it’s Nike? I thought Nike was the Running OG but I just feel so sad that I can’t wear these.

Super disappointed!!
Originally posted on Nike
I’m so disappointed in these shorts. My friends and I ordered them for our half marathon coming up and all of us ended up really disliking them. They ride up SO badly in the front making it extremely uncomfortable and you end up adjusting your shorts during the entire run. We all noticed that the drawstring waist didn’t synch enough to comfortably keep the shorts up. I was really hoping to like these since they were pretty pricey and unfortunately we can’t return them now since we tried to run in them. I’ve always loved Nike especially for my running but these shorts were a waste of money in my book.

Almost perfect!

I love the 7/8 running tight version of these shorts, so had to give them a try! Their only negative, at least for my body type, is that they ride up while I am running. I wish they had the gel tape at the inside leg opening to help combat this. Otherwise they are great!

They have pockets!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always loved spandex shorts, whether alone or under other shorts. These have pockets, so you dint have to worry about where to put your phone, chapstick etc. The black is great as someone who sweats, as they don’t show any marks. They’re also sweat wicking and super comfortable.

Fantastic running shorts

I’m pretty scrawny, right now but if I weighed a little bit more, I would probably go up to a medium. They do come with an interior draw string to tighten up the waist if need be. There a handy zipper pocket in the back with is my favorite feature! It’s perfect for a couple of small essentials. And the pockets on the side are perfect for your phone! These shorts also have cute little reflective details. Love them!
