Formal dress shirt, bib and cuff self patter are very detailed. Deep collar feature for a bow tie or normal tie. High thread count weave give soft feel and quality making it really good value. Fits true to size on collar and slight darting give it very nice shaped details.

Ordered this as replacement for a previously ordered slim fit that proved too slim. Though generally very pleased with the shirt it is a great pity that M&S seemed to have decided ten to fifteen years ago that men's arms had grown two inches longer.

Not a traditional pleated front
No, I don't recommend this
This shirt does not have what I would call a pleated front as described, it has narrow lines (fine pin tucks, if that is the correct term). As it has not been removed from the packaging I cannot comment on fit and quality, the site forces star ratings to be submitted which I cannot confirm. Sadly the shirt will have to be returned.

I've had shirts from first-class tailors but this is the dress shirt I prefer by far. Well made, nice material and an excellent fit. Washes well and irons very well. Only drawback - the collar stiffeners are plastic. Nice brass ones would be better.

My ongoing search for a plain white shirt

So far I've sent for 6 different shirts from M&S in my search for a well fitting plain white shirt. Unfortunately, this is another one I've sent back as its a dress shirt with a bib front. I didn't notice this detail on the description when ordering online. Can't answer for the fit as I didn't take it out of the packet.
