Striped Waisted Maxi Dress

I don’t usually buy Per Una dresses as I find them overly fussy and sometimes a bit frumpy but this dress is lovely. I wasn’t sure if I’d like the stripey pattern but I really do and it looks better once on (I am clearly the same vintage as the other reviewer who calls it her pacer dress as I knew exactly what she meant!). I am about 5’4” and have been struggling to find long skirts and dresses this year that aren’t way too long but this comes about ankle length, so perfect. I am a curvy 14/16 and the 14 fits perfectly and feels great on, with the wrap over top very flattering - actually looks better at the top on a fuller bust than on the model pictured (yay!). It’s easy to get on and off over your head with no zips or buttons to faff with. The sleeves are really nice and it will still be nice and cooI to wear in hot weather. I would not say it’s ‘completely/very see through’ as some reviews have so don’t let that put you off - you can’t see your underwear through it like one review says. In my opinion it has just the right amount of fabric and gather to fit nicely without having tons of material bunched up round your waist and hips. I do not have slim hips by any means and it isn’t at all tight it’s just right. Having not been sure I would like it I actually cannot wait to wear this dress...

I ordered this dress online. En route to collection, I looked at the dress on a mannequin. The size 14 was nowhere near as full as it should have been round the hips - this style should be flowing whereas the amount of fabric used from the waist down was at least half of what it should have been. Collection and returned without leaving the store. Disappointing

This is a great style dress but I’ve had to go up a dress size because of the cut. The material is thin cotton too. I think for the price it’s a tad expensive just because of the thinness of the material

After seeing it on Instagram, I had to try this dress. It is quite expensive for what you get BUT I fell in love with the dress when trying it on, so had to have it. I'm a new mum with a 6 month old, so wanted a dress that I could feed in but was still fashionable and could last me past feeding, I'm currently a 36F/G and bought a 14, the top fits perfectly and covers my cleavage nicely (incl, maternity bra!) which is a rare find - although without a zip on the side, it is a bit of a wiggle to get on and off over the bust! The material is lovely and light, but the seams seem to have a lot of loose thread ends, nothing has split (only worn twice) so I am hoping it stays that way - but not what you'd expect for the best part of £50! Husband also mentioned it being a bit see-through (even with nude knickers on!) Agree with other reviewers about the length - its not a 'maxi' dress, as in it doesn't touch the floor and I am 5' 5" - it comes mid/lower calf but I like this, the description should probably be a midi dress. For me the £50 price tag is worth the cut / fit of the bust, but not the finishing or lack of fastenings.

Love this dress, comfortable, flattering and stylish, what’s not to like! if between sizes go for the larger one, also more of a midi dress (i’m 5ft7 and it’s well above ankle) but think it suits dress style better that length.

This is one of these dresses which is best tried on as it looks great once it’s on but not so much on the hanger! I love it and the fit is just perfect on me. I’m 5ft 9 and a standard size 12 but I have a 34DD bust so the top fitted well on me. Really liked the green stripes and on holiday in Greece it was cool and light. Actually wish they had more of this style in different colours or plain, a light denim one would look amazing M&S!!

The previous reviews for this dress were mixed and so I was in two minds about ordering it. I’m so glad that I did as I love it! It may help to know that I am 5’ 8”, size 14, 36D bust. It’s more of a long midi on me rather than a maxi but the length looks just right. It’s a flattering fit on me but the top may gape on a less busty lady! It’s perhaps a bit expensive but I’m confident that I will get plenty of wear out of it.

This dress was lovely, light, floaty, perfect for summer’s day. Very suitable for young ladies but I felt not suitable for more mature lady. Being the latter, I returned the dress.

and have worn it many times as very flattering, just wish the fabric was a little better quality! It is a bit see through so have to wear a slip underneath. When I sit the wrap top gapes a little so have had to put a popper in for modesty! I am 5'7 and length great on me. Hoping they bring out this style in another colour/pattern!

Saw this on a friend and fell in love - we're both usually a 10 in most things, including M&S. I tried her 10 and it fit, so proceeded to order, my 10 however was so tight on the waistband, I couldn't get it over my hips or shoulders. It's beautiful and feminine without being floral. I will wear to a wedding but also just around and about. The issue is the waist has no elastic and there's no zip so it's a bit tricky to get out of unaided. As I love the dress, I decided to order a 12 and it's much better. You could argue a little bit on the waist, but the waist sits high and the skirt is flowy so it works for me. Chest and shoulders wise, I'm a 34/6 C, so not big but it's fine for me here, it gapes a little if sit I down and lean forward. I also have anything being too tight under my arms, which the 10 was. Deodorant eventually stains white so the 12 was a better fit here. Also, I can get out of it without assistance. So my advice is, if you're generally a 10, try both sizes. FYI usual size 10 / 26 / 60kg / 5'6 / 28 waist.

This immediately caught my eye due to its beautiful colour, soft flowing fabric and shape, should have been a real treat ! I tried a size 14 which was absolutely massive across the bust, so moved down to a 12 and I know this is hard to believe it was even bigger across the bust.So I ordered a size 10 online, as I liked this dress so much and did not want to give up on it. Size 10 arrived and again too loose across the bust . Disappointing

I am completely in love with my new dress. Comfy, flattering and on trend. xx

Disappointed with the quality of the fabric as it’s somewhat see through. Style was nice but the dress was not right for me. Could also do with being longer (I’m 5.9).
