Stormwear™ Ultra Hooded Faux Fur Lined Parka Coat

This is an amazing coat and just what I wanted but after the second day of wearing it I noticed the seam round the neck had come apart a couple of inches. This was very annoying. I was going to return it but I believed the size I had bought was now out of stock so I was in danger of losing the coat and having my money back. I didn't believe M&S would mend it for me. As I did not want to lose my coat I decided my best option was to mend it myself. This was quite tricky as it is black and my eyesight is not the best. I am a competent seamstress so I managed it fine and I hope it is now at its best. The coat is lovely and warm and appears so far to be waterproof. Thank you very much for the coat but annoying I had to mend it.

I bought the Olive Stormwear parka. It's well made and has a metal zip which should last longer than the plastic ones that seem to be on most zipped garments. The material feels very soft on the inside with the faux fur. It has pockets and hand warmer pockets too, which are useful. It is on the heavy side but it's a substantial coat and you don;t notice when you are wearing it. I've bought it for a Norwegian winter holiday and wanted something that would keep me warm and dry. I've worn it in the rain and no problems there. I would give it 4 1/2 stars but there isn't an option for that. I take off the star because the inside of the sleeve is very snug. I was hoping to be able to wear a thicker jumper underneath to help keep me warm but that's not possible. I will need to rely on thin thermals and hope for the best. I've no doubt it's warmth would be perfect for a usual winter, but wanted the extra option to put on more layers for a harsher climate.

Brilliant coat, highly recommend! I’m a 16-18 so got the 18 so it’s big enough so I can wear sweatshirts or hoodies with it. Love the thumb hole!

Had the original version of this without the fur inside and wore it constantly as it was the perfect jacket, warm & pretty waterproof. After a few years and numerous washes, I decided it was time to let it go and bought a khaki one in place of it. This year they brought the black out with the fur inside and so I purchased this as soon as I saw it. Great jacket for the Scottish weather!

This coat is lovely quality with the added benefit of being waterproof rather than water resistant. It looks expensive in my opinion. I'm a UK 8 to 10 and I order coats in a 10 which normally ensures a slightly generous fit. I feel this coat comes up a little smaller than expected in the 10 and I'm almost tempted to consider the next size up to allow enough room for a thick jumper. The cut through the body is very slightly shaped rather than completely straight - I would have preferred the latter, particularly since there is a drawstring at the waist anyway. There are a couple of negatives in my opinion, one being that the coat is quite heavy and the other being the hood - it seems small and doesn't fully cover my head meaning it won't stay on very well. The faux fur trim is quite bulky and doesn't help - I feel the coat looks better without it.
