Stainless Steel 14cm Milk Pan

This is certainly a good pan - but much shallower than expected. This is because the description is misleading - it gives the height as 10 cm. To be fair, since I still think in Imperial measurements (sorry - but that was what I was brought up with - and if you spend your formative years looking at something and thinking, "that's about xx inches", then the habit stays with you), that seemed fair enough. However, when it arrived, I was surprised to see how shallow it was. I then got the ruler out - the depth of the pan is actually only about 7 cm - so about an inch less deep than I thought. I then realised that the height given was the overall height of the item (including the handle) - NOT the actual depth of the pan! For storage purposes, the height could indeed be useful to know - but for cooking purposes (which, after all, is the main purpose!), the depth is more important. (In fact, given that this is a milk pan, I would have thought the deeper the better, to minimise the risk of milk boiling over!) Therefore I feel M&S should include BOTH measurements in the description. However, as I actually use this size of pan for sauces and scrambled & poached eggs (preferring to use the microwave for heating milk), I decided to keep it. It does perform very well - and I would have awarded 5 stars had it been deeper and had that measurement been made clear.

This was a like for like replacement after the first, bought three years ago, was inadvertently left, full of soy beans, on a hot hob, and was ruined. My wife will continue to use the old one for her beans, and I will continue delighting in making scrambled eggs in the new one 😊

Bought this as a replacement for my old sauce pan which I had used for many many years. No heat transfer onto the handle. Great for sauces.

I’ve been making my portion of curry sauce in this little pan. No more problems of sticking. Cleans easily. Brilliant little pan.

This is the second one of these milk pans that I’ve ordered. Really pleased with how it cooks on my induction hob. Small handy size and cleans really easily.

Bought because of its size & intended use (for milk) though use for sauces & gravy too. Easy to clean (not tried in dishwasher - no need). Only one niggle - the pouring spouts are not very good when trying too pour milk into a cup - always spills

Good quality. Good for porridge as it doesn't stick. Easy to wash.

A replacement for an expensive French pan. This seems a useful and attractively designed item

I use this almost exclusively for scrambled egg. It’s perfect for 2 portions. The non stick pans at M&S are the best out there and absolutely outstanding value. Use a soft spatula to protect the coating and this baby will reward you with creamy perfect protein packed scrambled eggs forever and a day. I find the key to pan longevity is the method used for fixing the handle. These are incredibly well engineered 👍

Good nonstick pan, working well so far, time will tell. Good size for white sauce and milk.

A handy liitle pan that's easy to clean. I use a ceramic hob and silicon utensils, so this is perfect.
