Stainless Steel 18cm Saucepan

Just boiling my first organic Jersey potatoes of the year that have boiled quicker than my old pan. I am trying to eat as much organic food as possible to reduce eating pesticides and fungicides that are present in many fruits and veg with especially high levels in citrus fruits, grapes and strawberries. Unfortunately many of these nasties are systemic, so washing them doesn't help as they are in the skin, the fruit and the root. The potatoes are to go with a chicken, ginger and turmeric casserole that is in the Tom Kerridge sauté pan. I have found a supplier of fresh organic turmeric roots that is wonderful in all Indian cooking and anti-inflammatory; the down side is that everything in the kitchen is stained bright yellow. I had intended to go and pick some veg from the poly tunnel but can't be bothered so will use frozen peas. Then I will attack my pistachio Easter egg that was a present from my neighbour Mavis.

Great pan. Heavy bottom but pan itself not so heavy you can’t use it. Great quality.

Great style and size, nice and deep, no sticking. Handle can get hot.

It heats up quickly and is a good weight. However I think the lid is a very poor if not dangerous design. The knob is difficult to hold because you need to use a thich tea towel or similar to take the lid off. The knob gets very very hot. Ive just purchssed a new lid with a different handle so that I can use the saucepan. I would not recommend it.

Very happy with the saucepan. Solid without being too heavy. Cleans easily. Quite happy with it.

So pleased with these that I’ve now ordered the 16 cm one to complete the set. They are quite heavy, which I don’t see as a downside, as it is why they heat up quickly without burning. Wish I’d bought stainless steel pans years ago.
