This, ordered on line, had to be returned as the look and feel of the material was inferior. Also, it arrived creased, so obviously would not look good after wearing for a few hours. A pity as the styling was an improvement on recent offerings from M& S

Too full in body

The A-line/shift style dress is such a good flattering shape for us young 50 plus year olds and I have had several from M&S. Thought this would be a nice little black number to add to my collection but unfortunately the body was much fuller than my others (more like a fit and flare) and the material had a lot of static. I am a petite size 10 and this was a great fit over my shoulders and upper arms, a nice length too but sadly I had too return it. Please make more A-line and shift styles available, as they are so versatile and look good from day to evening.

I bought this dress recently and loved it's simplicity as it could be dressed up or down according to the time of day. I have worn it with a colourful silk scarf during the day but It also looks great with a statement necklace for the evening. It is a very 'comfortable' style and perfect for those of us that haven't a perfect waistline. I bought a 14 and found it true to size.

I was really looking forward to trying this dress on, thought I'd be able to wear it to work or dress it up with a statement necklace. Unfortunately this dress is very long (I am 5ft 2") and did nothing for me, it was quite tent like. Such a shame as it's a great price. Perhaps time for a petite version?

Loved the gold colour of this dress but was disappointed when I tried it on, the darts were in the wrong place- far too low which made it hang strangely and very unflattering.

I loved the idea of this dress (and thought it looked great in the pics) but my usual size in other stores swamped me and so the dress seemed shapeless and unflattering. A smaller size might have told a different story, but it wasn't possible to exchange online so I just returned it. Quality seemed decent to touch and price was very good value.
