Firstly, this is a beautiful and heavy trench coat. I first saw this coat in store and tried both the size 8 and 10. The size 8 felt a little small, especially as I was planning to wear it with thicker jumpers in autumn/early winter. I therefore bought the petite size 10 in September, when it was newly released. Trying my size 8 coats were no longer fitting and I had put on a little weight, so I thought the size 10 would be the safer option for the long-term. However, for my 5'2" frame, this coat is absolutely enormous! Looking back, I wish I had also bought the size 8 so I could compare the fit. Perhaps M&S could include photos showing how their clothes fits on petite models, particularly someone under 5'3". The current photos featuring a 5'6" model don't really give a good indication of how the coat will look and fit on someone who is considerably shorter.

Quality trench coat feels a much higher price point. Barberry style lining, totally timeless you'll wear this in 10 years time. Size of collar perfect if you like to lift it, beautifully finished coat. Highly recommend.

I bought the coat for smarter autumn wear. I love the style and fit but as soon as I put it on the hem was hanging down on one side. Not sure if it’s not pressed properly or needs a couple of stitches to keep it straight.

I ordered a the size above my usual so that I could wear a jumper underneath for warmth and utilise the coat as much as possible before winter sets in. The petite size is just the right length for my frame and the lining gives it a warm feel when wearing. I paid extra for this style of the trench rather than the lower priced one because the quality of the coat stood out. I was disappointed in the choice of colours and would have liked a blue colour either a navy or the new season cobalt – perhaps a thought for future versions. I had been looking for a trench coat for a while and having received vouchers for my birthday decided to just treat myself. Very pleased that I decided to upgrade to the slightly more expensive style it is very flattering in the fit and will look stylish and up to date for a good few years.

Reviewed trenches and this came out best buy. True to the word it’s a great coat, very substantial with plenty going on, button back vent was nice little touch. Super roomy inside pocket was a bonus. Size 8 generously sized so opted for 6 for better fit.

Just the right length as an 18 regular in traditional camel colour. I’m 5ft 7 and 18 ontop. This one has a smarter lining so for the extra that’s worth it . It’s timeless trench for use in colder wet weather. Looks very smart looking. Quite a heavy coat but that’s the shock from not wearing a coat for months.
