Disappointing
No, I don't recommend this
Very wide legs made me look even more squat - I'm 5' with short legs and this style did nothing for me. But the fit was great, with enough stretch that it would be possible to wear leggings under them, if you wanted extra warmth. The material was very thin - more suited to summer weight, but I wouldn't want to wear black if it were warm.

I ordered the regular, even though I am only 5'1, as other reviewers had (correctly) stated these come up long. They combine comfort with style. Size 6 is quite large, (I am generally size 8), so you might want to order a size down from your usual.

Very disappointed I have been buying and wearing these trousers for several years. Why change things that work well! , the material is different and not as comfortable. I am a short leg and where the length is normally perfect these are swinging round my ankles. After only 3 washes the material has bobbled. Paid £25 and not good value for money. Please Marks and Spencer reintroduce the old trousers.

These are a good solid stretchy fabric not transparent or thin. However they were very short, and seemed to shoot up some more after washing. I usually buy short and it is generally just right but these have ended up more like seven/eigths trousers.

Having read about the new sizing system I was looking forward to getting these trousers as I am a size 6 but they were far from being perfectly proportioned for the petite frame, the waist dropped down to below my hips! shame as they are a nice easy wear holiday trouser to dress up or down

These trousers are a very good fit and length. I am 5'2". Very pleased with them for a casual trouser. Wish petite range could be manufactured in different colours, instead of always being in black.

Have bought these in the past in larger size, this smaller than me size actually fits better. Length is always a problem, regular length should fit as I am 5ft 5in, but it never does - these ones are very slightly too short, which is better than too long so you mop up the rain as you walk! I agree with others that these trousers should come in other colours, they are such a wardrobe staple

These are marvellous trousers, superb fit, I ordered Standard Length as in "Petite" I find the short length is too short. I am 5'2" short ! The fabric is lovely, very flattering. I have just ordered two more pairs, just great for work, casual, dressy & even dancing !

Wanted trousers that were comfortable to wear for all occasions. Mainly wanted to wear out in evening with dressy top. Loved the feel of the fabric, not clingy. Leg just wide enough. i am 5'2" and after reading the reviews ordered standard length and they were great with heels on. With flats I would have needed the short size.

Yet again ordered 29" length trousers, yet again, returning them As they are only 27 1/2" in length. Have always been an M&S Customer, but am getting fed- up with unreliability of sizing. This Seems to be happening more and more, not only with trousers, But also with length of sleeves, tops, skirts etc. more and more I find myself going in store checking all size 12's , and finding nearest Length to what it should be! Not a great shopping experience. I think I will have to look elsewhere for certain items of clothing!

I have always bought the short leg size in trousers from Marks and Spencer, but these trousers were at least an inch too short. They were ankle length which is incorrect for this style of trousers. They should cover part of the shoe/boot.
