Lovely table but WARNING - flimsy hinges!!

We have happily used the table folded for 6 weeks; it looks very nice and we would have rated it very highly. However, we have just folded it back up after its very first extension, and the hinges snapped, so the 2 pieces no longer meet in the middle. The hinges cannot be replaced apparently - what a waste. So be VERY CAREFUL when operating the extension, it definitely takes 2 people.

Bought this approx 3 weeks ago..veneer on top badly marked with 17 black spots across surface. Which is treated woodworm. The table looks a mess. Now customer services say nothing wrong with it and doesn’t agree with my concerns. So now waiting for someone from castleton Ltd to come and look. Otherwise 5have table removed. As a disabled customer it’s been very unhelpful. Who accepts 17 black dots on a table? What a mess. Looks like oil drips all over it.now being refunded. But now have to go through it again if I have nerve to go through it again. Inside table perfect. But no one able to say how many flaws acceptable? And it’s treated woodworm not natural flaws.anyone accepted more than 17 woodworm dots?

This table is a great table and should be considered a table of significance during the great early 20th century M&S period. Its design incorporates four legs, popular with table users since early the Edwardian Period. This table will last even as styles change because its enduring quality for the price will ensure its longevity in these austere times. We found its price didn't compromise our household budget adversely and our ability to concurrently afford our rising fuel and food costs wasn't too stressful. It looks so good in our home that we gave the foodbank a miss for a whole month as it didn't feel right.

Had initially ordered a table from elsewhere but that company managed to delay the order for 6 weeks before cancelling, quoting an "admin error" and inviting me to place the order again... with a price increase of £100!! Was very unimpressed so started to look around and remembered M&S do some nice homewares. Found this table and it was delivered in less time than a week! Very glad the other company messed up the order as this is a much better / nicer / more solid table and looks terrific in my new kitchen. Very nice quality, looks great -- we keep it folded most of the time when it's the two of us, but we've had 6 people very comfortably around it. Totally delighted with it and would gladly recommend it to anyone who needs a good-quality kitchen table that looks smart and also turns into a nice dining room table. Well done M&S!!

POOR QUALITY & DAMAGED FURNITURE NOT JUST THE TABL

TABLE ARRIVED DAMAGED. COFFEE TABLE ARRIVED DAMAGED. REPLACEMENT TABLE HAD CENTRE EXTENSION TOP POORLY FINISHED & HAD TO BE REPLACED BY THE SECTION BEING RETURNED ON THE DAMAGED TABLE. SECOND COFFEE TABLE ARRIVED WITH THE LEG JOINT LOOSE & NOT GLUED. SENT BACK DID NOT WANT ANOTHER . OVERALL VERY POOR QUALITY AND OBVIOUSLY NO QUALITY CONTROL. OTHER ITEMS ALSO HAD MINOR DAMAGE. WE HAVE HAD M&S FURNITURE IN THE PAST AND FOUND IT GOOD QUALITY. THINGS HAVE CHANGED, NEVER AGAIN WILL WE PURCGASE M&S FURNITURE
