Orb Pendant

Very poor quality. The two glass half spheres do not fit together properly, there is a large gap between glass and copper middle band, allowing dust to get in. These are replacement lights I bought as the previous copper orb lights would not open, so as to allow changing of bulbs. The display copper orb light in local store will not open either, according to marks and Spencer staff. Looks nice but not fir for purpose.

This is a really stylish light that, contrary to some other reviews here, was very easy to fit. The build quality is excellent, with one exception. Having almost finished the installation, I found that the last metal piece to be fitted at the bottom of the pendant was cracked. I could have taken the light down and returned it for a replacement, but really couldn't face the hassle, so I just used the defective piece. It doesn't affect the integrity of the fitting, but it does irk that there is a crack. If anyone from M&S reads this and would like to send me a replacement part, that would be very much appreciated! I guess the moral of the story is check each piece before you start to fit it. That said, it's a beautiful light and I would highly recommend it.

Looks great, really bright and lights up the room very well. Glass was slightly chipped on the edge when it arrived, but that is covered by the metal work. Best thing to do is bin the instructions, they make a very slightly fiddly assembly far more complicated than it needs to be! Otherwise a very good light, looks brilliant

I purchased two of these - for upper and lower hall. Had to wait a long time until stock was available, eventually they were back in stock. They required quite a bit of patience to get the top part to fit exactly to the bottom, luckily a very patient husband did this. They do look amazing. They certainly look more expensive than what I paid. If they had been easier to fit, they would just be unbeatable for style and value.

DO NOT BUY. The product is all self assemble and the guidance notes are not clear. It was horrendous to put together just as stated in the other reviews. The glass and metal frame are two halves and to get the metal to be flush with no gaps you have to push and twist at the same time. Now, when you have the item up a bulb went and we found there is no facility to change the bulbs so you are expected to take the two halves apart. This is impossible as they wont come apart now and don't forget you have to try and split the orb whilst its hanging. And there are three bulbs, impossible. Looks good but not fit for purpose.

My husband has spent the last 4 hours attempting to put this together to no avail. The top part of the orb is JUST TOO BIG for the bottom half!! And the problem is that you don't actually discover this until it is all attached to the ceiling and wired in!! So trying to make a square peg fit in a round hole whilst balancing on a chair does NOT a happy husband make. Very disappointed Marks and Spencer and you WILL be getting this back possibly in bits!!

On the website this pendant looks beautiful however I had'nt appreciated the amount of fiddly self assembly that would be required. Working with the glass orbs is delicate & tricky. Although it has the look I want I'm afraid this has put me off & it will be going back.

We bought 2 of these orbs for our living room. They look stylish and modern, a very nice addition. The copper colour is great. However they were extremely difficult to build and fit. The 2 half glass spheres are fragile and we struggled to put the orbs together without damaging the glass pieces. The building part should clearly be improved.
