Terrible purchase

No, I don't recommend this
I love the concept of this coat- it looks great and is warm and cozy! However, it is so disappointing that it is not waterproof. In very light rain it does fine, but anything more lets the rain in. The biggest issue though is that the down filling absolutely stinks every time it gets wet. The coat smells terrible, like wet dog. I fully understand that it needs to be fully dried like a duvet as it is filled with down, but this is completely impractical for a ‘waterproof’ coat which is designed to be warn in the rain. On the occasions I have chosen to wear it I have felt so embarrassed by the smell. I really love this brand but on this occasion, this was a terrible purchase.

Lovely coat
Lovely coat but bit on the big side so will return and re order. Hopefully the box will come in better condition and on time on the next occasion

Poor quality material

This coat is warm BUT poor quality for the price!!!! Comfortable, well insulated, great length and warm but poor poor material…! I’ve barely worn it, and there is a tiny hole in the material and also the paint on the zips is coming off so it looks tacky. Wouldn’t recommend at full price

So cosy

Warmest coat I've ever had. Quite bulky but so perfect in the really cold weather. I love not wearing extra layers underneath so can go indoors to the warmth and just shed the coat. Amazing. Not cheap but a real investment

Nimbus Coat - can’t sit down in it!

I bought the new version of this after loving the previous version (I lost weight and it didn’t fit me anymore). The new version is awful, I assumed it would be a better version but other than the cuff design being improved I don’t see the improvements. It’s actually really impractical to wear because it’s so puffy, you cannot sit down in it (zipped or unzipped) because there is so much trapped air inside the coat it feels like you are siting on a balloon. Several times I’ve been concerned about popping the coat. It’s a shame because I love the way it looks generally but last seasons zips are more aesthetic than on this new coat. I would return if I could but I was hoping the air would ‘settle down’. It has not.

Almost perfect cosy coat

I love this coat, it's super cosy and the fleece-lined pockets mean that my hands don't completely freeze when I forget my gloves. The length is ideal for me. It's almost the perfect winter coat but I've had to deduct a star as it doesn't have a zipped internal pocket (the old design did and it means I've got nowhere to keep my keys) just a fairly pointless slip pocket; also the waterproof claim is a little questionable - it does keep the worst of the rain off but in a heavy shower water still penetrates the seams.

Disappointing

I’ll start with a positive… the coat looks nice. Although the coat is very heavy and I do think it is too long even for 5 foot 5. When you sit down in the coat it puffs up and has gone flat on the bum. I wanted to love this coat but it’s not practical. Also it’s not waterproof. Disappointing for the price.

Disappointed with the quality

Bought this coat last year in December and the quality for the price is so poor! It is not a coat that you wear the whole year the maximum is 3 months so I don’t understand why it has started to have little hole on the sleeves seams. For the price I would have expected it to last longer than few months.

Lightweight, stylish and super warm!
This coat exceeded my expectations, its so warm and cosy and a nice fit. I haven't worn it in the rain yet so unable to comment on the waterproof element. Very well made, feels a lot nicer than a lot of coats I've had over the years. Its lightweight but very warm. Very happy with this coat!

Not waterproof!!
Originally posted on sweatybetty.com
I spent a long time looking for a warm, waterproof winter coat. This coat seemed to tick all the boxes but as I found out at the weekend when I got caught in a minor rain shower, it is not the case. I’m now desperately trying to get the awful smell of wet dog out of the coat as the internal feather down has got wet. I’m very disappointed having spent a lot of money on the coat and would not recommend. If anyone has any tips to get rid of the smell, please let me know!

Love it! It’s perfect. I am petite, I thought first that it looked big but now I love it! It’s comfy and cozy. The straps to hang it on the shoulders are very practical. I bought it as I was travelling this weekend to the Cotswolds, from London. It’s absolutely perfect!

Light in weight and super warm! The construction is well made, with thoughtful details (lined pockets, wind cuffs, and side zips) but it does seem a tad large. I opted not to size down, because I have some pretty sizeable shoulders and lats and this gives enough room for free arm movement, even with a jumper. I only wish it came in colours other than neutrals. I opted for black and will need to stick some reflective tape on the sleeves and hem. Maybe they could add that into the next design?

Used to come up large but they’ve amended the sizing for the new nimbus coats ( spoke to a lovely sales assistant in Nottingham store!) used to be an XXS in nimbus now an XS and I’m a size 10. It’s so nice, waiting for it to be cold enough to wear it!!

I had the old version of this coat and the new one is 100 times better. The zip on the original one was temperamental, this one is smooth as silk. It’s also now waterproof 🙌🙌. Amazing, warm coat cannot recommend enough

This coat is expensive! I toyed with the idea of buying it given the price! I’m on the sideline a lot and this coat it worth every single penny! I suffer with Raynauds and feel the cold- not anymore thanks to this beautiful warm coat

I already have a nimbus from about 2 years ago, its my go to winter coat which I wear from Oct - Feb without fail, for commuting, kids football watching from the sidelines and dog walks! I was so excited to see a waterproof version, and so pleased with my purchase! Def worth the money, I love that I can feel stylish and even wear for nights out, but also with all the technical attributes. It is a roomy fit but means I can put jumpers underneath for the winter days so Im happy! #teamsweatybetty

Waterproof and Warm - THE best coat!

I bought a Nimbus after having my eye on it for a few years and I am SO glad that I did. The quality is fantastic, the zips on each side mean that the jacket feels feminine whilst also keeping me lovely and warm. Every detail has been thought of, from the fleece lined pockets, to the straps sewn on the inside which allow for the jacket to be worn on my back. To top it off, the jacket is waterproof, meaning I am ready for whatever British weather comes my way! I love it!

Love the new Nimbus - the waterproof aspect in a puffer jacket is a real win, keeping me warm and dry. Being 5ft 4", the double ended front zip and zips to open the side seams make this longline style work for my frame. I look good, feel great and keep dry. V happy.
