Well made but no give

Good looking shoes but leather very hard and no give at all. Think they would be very uncomfortable and hard to break in. Sadly had to return as a great price.

Bought these shoes in the sale and represent very good value. Had very similar pairs in the past and they wear forever. They are a darker brown than shown in picture and much criticised because of their fit. However much depends on the width of your feet and also the sizing of the shoe comes up short. I am normally a size 9 but to overcome the problems outlined above I purchased a size 10 and they fit perfectly.

I always take size 9 with M&S shoes, but thanks to all the adverse comments regarding size, I managed to buy a half size bigger. Good decision, still a bit snug, but fairly comfortable and will ease with use. Very good quality and amazing value at £19.00 in the sale.

I ordered a slightly larger size to accommodate thicker socks for more comfortable walking. Unfortunately the fit was not good for me - even with my thinnest socks they were very uncomfortable. I have returned the shoes.

Whilst well made the shoes are just too narrow. I have an average width foot and have never had a problem (width wise) when buying shoes before. This pair. given I've tries to break them in, I very probably end up in the bin. I will wait for the shoe shops to reopen and will not buy shoes on-line again, This was my first time!!

I have bought M&S Derby shoes in the past but these examples do not fit. They are very narrow fitting and feel short for a size 10. I am disappointed as they look good and seem well made.

I usually wear a size 8 but bought size 8 and a half so I could wear thick winter socks. Even with ordinary socks I couldn’t get them on as they were so Disappointing.

I purchased these to replace a similar pair that I have from M&S. I've never had a problem with this type of shoe before (although my latest deck shoes are pretty dire!) To start with, I had a job putting them on. They're SO tight!!!! They are also have very thin leather with no padding around the heel. Didn't realise how thin they were until I walked in them. I had blisters on BOTH heels within ten minutes. These are by FAR, the WORST shoes I've ever had. Basically unwearable. Too small and leather hard and ungiving. Don't buy!!

A nice looking matt leather shoe although a little darker than shown on-line and certainly well made. If you are used to the exceptional comfort, quality and durability of M&S walking shoes then these may be a bit of a shock. I didn't find the width a problem at all but did order 10 rather than my usual 9 1/2. My very first walk in them today lasted about 10 minutes before the pain started in my heels and I could feel the blisters. They will be fine eventually I am sure but I may go back to my boots in the meantime.
