Daughter can’t stand tights… the answer!

Spotted these in the summer while looking for something else, other reviewers got them for school use so thought they might be the answer for my daughter who can’t stand wearing tights, and starting 6th form no longer has the option of socks with the uniform. Plain and simple with no unnecessary frilly bits, they look practical and are practical, sturdy but slender straps with metal clips, and low rise, they fit discretely under school skirts without showing. A complete success and ideal for her, she’s been wearing them every day since the start of term, no complaints, no problems with stockings slipping or coming undone, says easy to wear, much more comfortable than tights and more secure than holdups – since got two more for her. The S/M fits nicely, she’s a size 8/10. The plain black is perfect for school with black skirt, stockings and knickers, but a white one would be nice as weekends she’s been wearing them with light coloured dresses. But why are they so difficult to find?? Only found by chance, on the website listed in ‘bra accessories’, and sold in store in anonymous little packets on a stand with bra straps and bra pads??

I am normally a size 16/18 so I ordered the belt in the largest size offered -XL.. It didn't go anywhere near me and I had to use three bras extentions just to get it to fit.

I ordered the XL as it was for a 20-22 going by M&S sizing chart. My measurements are smaller but I couldn't even fasten this garment. If I had done I would have cut myself in half. M&S really need to have a huge rethink about today's women's clothes size. I rarely manage to buy anything from M&S that fits well.

Disappointing manufacture

I was initially pleased with these suspenders, although from the start one of them was hard to do up (something not quite right with the metal loop). Then I found that the ribbons covering the suspenders were just threaded through, not secured. It was not long before one fell off in public! After that one of the plastic parts of the suspender came loose. I have had to sew it back on and also put a stitch in the 3 remaining ribbons. Please M&S, make something more hard wearing!

Excellent quality, reasonably priced. Sizing is WAY OUT, and in my opinion "large - extra large" is merely an average medium size, Hugely disappointed.

This is not suitable for compression stockings for a person who is small/medium. It is just not strong enough to stay up. I find that it is dragged down by the stockings. . Also after less than 3 weeks one of the suspenders has now broken away. I really would not recommend it at all.

I wear grad. compression stockings and was desperate for a new suspender belt. The apparent small size was concerning but I tried it. The suspender belt might seem small - see other reviews, but it is stretchy. I am large around my middle and the addition of a bra extender solved the problem for me. It's very comfortable to wear and the suspenders, although small, can cope with my compression stockings. stockings. Choice of white would be nice. Rated 4stars only because I needed the extender. Certainly value for money.

Having never worn a suspender belt before this was a great start with a simple belt. The fit is great and the smooth lines mean it can be worn for work with no unsightly bulges. I can honestly say I forgot I had it on and am now converted to stockings and suspenders. No more unhealthy tights and also easier when visiting the toilet! Just remember to wear panties over the belt as I found. Thanks M&S for a great item

I love this belt, I wear stockings most days (can't stand tights) so have a lot of suspender belts but this is one of my faves. I can wear it all day at work and don't even know I've got it on apart from the occasional visit to the loo if it needs adjusting. Will be buying another :-)
