Our new and improved fit is a more flattering and modern cut. It is cut narrower through the shoulders than our relaxed fit. Slightly slimmer through the waist for a flattering look.

Returned both shirts, one a large, one medium. The medium was fine around the shoulders but too snug around the body and hips. The large was baggy all over. I decided to try these because of the 20% discount which didn’t make any difference in the end. The fabric was a little on the thin/translucent side, too, all the more evident given that they were white.

Got a small size for my husband. It looked good on heaving worn it, but it’s dropping down the shoulders and very big on the arms. Even though it’s small size, it feels as if it’s for a very broad shouldered person. Quality of linen and colour is good. But returning it due to its shape & size.

The "XL" was smaller than a "L" M&S Linen shirt that I bought last year. M&S are trying to target the younger buyer (who prefer the slimmer fit), but this is a big mistake - the core M&S male customer is older. M&S need to re-think their policy of trying to attract the younger customer, as it is alienating their older/core customers with more disposable income.

I have shopped at M & S for the last 25+years for clothing and have always brought xxl, for this shirt I wanted it quite loose so I bought the xxxl size, it is so tight I struggled to do the buttons up and I certainly couldn't sit down wearing the shirt. Very disappointed.

Have bought shirts for decades from M&S and have been happy with all of them - especially the linen ones. Tried this one on and it seemed fine around the chest, neck, arms - I like them quite baggy, but when I wore it for the first time I realised the cut around the arms has completely changed and is now tight and uncomfortable when I raise them. It isn't that it's small as such, just small in certain places. I honestly don't know who this would fit...

I bought this shirt in white for my husband, in his usual size of 'medium'. The shirt was too tight across his back and under his arms. Shirt is being returned. Will try a larger size and hope it isn't too big. I would only recommend this shirt if the wearer buys a bigger size than usual.
