Lovely skirt but the waistband needs rethinking

First of all, the green skirt is lovely. The fabric is soft, drapey and versatile enough to wear year round with different types of stockings. However, I really don’t understand why some brands design elastic waistbands that don’t stretch enough for the hips to pass through comfortably. My hips aren’t particularly wide (I’m a UK 8), yet even though the XS fit my waist perfectly, I had to return it because it was simply too much of a struggle to put on. I’ve now ordered a size S to see whether the issue is resolved with a slightly larger size, even if that means the waist may end up a bit looser.

The skirt is true to size. I'm 5'10" so I'm letting the hem down by an inch but that's just because I prefer my skirts to be closer to my ankle. The stitched pleats mean the skirt hangs beautifully and there's no bulking around the waistband. Great colour too.

Having read the other reviews I ordered a Medium (size12-14) but rather than being generous it’s actually quite tricky to get on and off as it comes up smaller on the hips and waist. I’m wondering if it’s because the material is different to the other colours. So of order I g the green one I would suggest sizing up. Having said that it’s lovely and I love the feel of the fa rice and the way the skirt hangs. Nice to have a pop of colour for winter and will work well in the spring summer too.

This is my no-brainer go-to skirt. Elasticated waist is comfortable, but with no bulk. It's a light fabric, but the dark animal print is perfect for this time of year with knitwear.

Really wanted to love this skirt. The colour is gorgeous. Ordered my usual size but it was so small I couldn’t get it over my hips. Eradicated waist but no zip meant it’s only any good for slender hips. Sadly had to return I bought another style skirt at the same time in the same size and it fits perfectly
