This is the second pair we’ve bought. First pair were bought as school shoes so really put through their paces. Smart looking and very soft leather giving a very comfortable fit. They did eventually wear out but had literally been worn all day, 6 days a week for 3 terms!

My husband saw these in store, it was unusual to see a shoe with only the one buckle as then tend to normally have two. Some years ago he had bought a pair of expensive Italian shoes from Florence with only the one buckle, and he has been looking for a new pair ever since. I ordered them online and got him a 8, he is normally a 7 or 7 1/2 but they looked like they could be on the small size. When they arrived he was pleased with the look and the comfort but he said that he was glad we ordered the 8 as they fitted fine.

I bought these shoes online, and have not had any monk shoes for years.. They look quit smart, but not entirely sure about the fit, so I have only worn then indoors. The obvious issue that I have with them is that they creak all the time, which I have never had with any M&S shoes before. I wear orthotic insoles and might try a half size up and send these back, except they don't have it in that size! I really like these shoes as an idea, and get frustrated by laces coming undone etc
