Yes, I recommend this
I bought these specifically to use with morning dress and as a replacement for a long lasting pair that had finally given up the ghost after 20 years and much resoling. I anticipated having to beak them in over a few weeks but I am impressed by the fact that I could put them straight on and they do not need breaking in at all.

Excellent item - but with a flaw.
No, I don't recommend this
An excellent, well made pair of shoes. HOWEVER - there was a crease on the leather on the outside of the left shoe. I don't know how they got through quality control with this particular flaw, as it was uppermost in the box when it arrived. This is a similar experience to one already posted. I shall order another pair in the hope this was a glitch, but it is a little disconcerting.

Perfect shoes, awful quality control
No, I don't recommend this
The shoes themselves are perfect and very reasonably priced. But the ones I received from M&S contained a large and obvious scar on the leather of one of them. Had to be returned. I am starting to suspect that M&S deliberately select unacceptable items for online orders in the hope many will not bother returning them. Really awful and part of a sad decline in standards and quality over the years.
