Overripe and rotten fruit

Purchased yearly for past several years as a Christmas gift for my English family (I live in USA). Usually top quality, however this year the basket contained several pieces of over ripe and even rotted fruit. After much back and forth with customer service I got minimal satisfaction in the form of a small refund for 3 of 7 orders. I will not be buying again in the future.

I bought this a gift for my mother, I had previously bought the smaller one and she loved it. This one not so much, it was a poor selection and the quality was not very good at all. I personally won't be buying another, it wasn't worth the money.

The selection for the large basket was poor, pears were inedible, grapes were past their best, satsumas were dry and seemed “old” I don’t believe I had a large basket it was more medium ! This was a gift for a good friend who doesn’t like the chocolate and alcohol versions I could have bought my own fruit and packed it myself cheaper This is unusual for M&S I won’t be ordering next year
