Schmoozie Happy Trip Down Memory Lane I bought the original of this dress in 1974 in Dickens & Jones in Regent Street, London. It was designed by Jean Muir, a fabulous designer, who sadly died too young. It was normal length and made of a lovely teal colour heavy silky jersey which hung beautifully. It cost me nearly a month's wages, but worth every penny and I loved it. So imagine my delight when it turned up branded as Jaeger on the M&S website (the dress is classed as from the Jaeger archive and in her later years Jean Muir did a yearly collection for Jaeger, but I don’t think this dress was part of it). I couldn’t wait to buy it and although it’s now maxi length and the material is not as luxurious, the design is exactly the same, and just as elegant but in a more casual way. It hangs beautifully due to the fact that it is well cut and the material not skimped and is very flattering to all shapes. It would be great if M&S could reproduce the original in time for the Christmas party season, but I guess that is a big ask for this year?
