Jacquard Tie A-Line Skirt

This skirt was possibly the craziest item of clothing I've ever seen. The fabric was beautiful, but it was absolutely enormous and I looked a bit like a galleon in full sail. I am 5 7" and it came down to my ankles. I am somewhere between a 12-14 and ordered the 14, which was huge on me. I don't know if this is what made it so long, but it seems odd that this should be the case. The tie is also huge and not really needed. It's such a shame as it could have been a really beautiful skirt had it been a bit more carefully thought out and designed as a standard prom/Aline shape.

I was looking forward to this skirt and was impressed by the jewel colours and the material. Having read the reviews I ordered my usual 14 and a 16 (to be on the safe side). Oh dear, the 14 didn't meet by almost 2 ins. and the 16 swamped me! As for the length, it almost met my ankles, so much for 'below the knee' and I am about 5ft 6. Why can't you state the length as most of us would know whether this is right for us? I now have the bother and disappointment to have to return both items. Please M&S sort your sizes out, I'm sure I'm not the only mortified customer for this potentially lovely garment. P.S. Tie belt not necessary, material too thick.

The print is very striking and unusual and the colours are perfect for this time of year and I had intended to wear this to a number of Christmas parties. As others have said, the material is very heavy - almost curtain-like in its heaviness - but I didn't mind that either. What made me return it was the sizing. I am normally a 12 in M&S skirts but having read reviews of this before buying, I went up a size. However, even in a 14, I couldn't do the zip up. I have quite narrow hips but a slight 'muffin top' but have never had a problem getting in a size 14 before. So disappointing. For the umpteenth time, M&S, sort out your sizing!

I was very excited about collecting this skirt (due to be a Christmas present) as the style and colours looked gorgeous online. Sadly, however, the item is due to be returned as the fabric is so very firm and protrudes excesssively, making me look - in my husband's words - "like a Russian doll." Very disappointing.

Sorry, it just looked like upholstery material...v heavy ! Also, too bright, too long and...no...just not for me xx

I so wanted this beautiful skirt to fit but it was about two sizes too small. I ordered my normal size, size 16 but it is about a size 12. I would probably need to order the size 20 for it to fit but unfortunately and annoyingly it is now sold out. Beautiful fabric, very thick and sumptuous but cut very small and therefore disappointing.
