all of the stars are for the comfort of the shoe and price point, i needed to replace my columbias in a pinch for a week of fieldwork for uni, and since then primarily wear them for dog walking. after a week of intensive use in various environments and weather in north wales i noticed the waterproofing had begun to fail and the faux leather had begun to peel. i don't recommend them if you need a hardy, lasting shoe for daily use in consistently wet, mucky environments. for an occasional hike here and there absolutely!
