Great color and super comfort

This is my third pair of Guide 18s. Love the beige color with gold accents...goes with everything and needless to say, super comfortable with deep cushioning.

Size up
Originally posted on Saucony
I love the look of these shoes believe it or not. Got the gold pair. They run short. My toes are not happy. I have always worn 6.5. I had to double check if they sent me the right size. I also tried one foot with my older Triump 6.5 against these and right away feel a difference. Sizing of saucony is not consistent. I wish I could send these back and get a bigger size.

Shoes are 1/2 size too small
Originally posted on Saucony
These shoes are too short and my toes are pinched. Worn this model for multiple years and my feet remain the same. Too much money for shoes not to fit. Returned the shoes

Bye Bye Guides

After 175 miles the shoes are toast. Stress cracks, lack of forefoot support and sadly my peroneal tendonitis returned. I’m so disappointed in the endurance of the shoe

Greatest shoe on earth

Ive been buying running shoes for decades now. These are by far the greatest. The cushioning is great and they fit my foot perfectly--a problem Ive had problems with in the past. Ill never buy another type of shoe again. Im sold for life.

Not true to size

Not true to size. I usually wear a 8 and this feels like a 7. Otherwise seems like a great shoe but I cannot run properly with them. It's hard to give a good review.

Not the same as usual.

I have been wearing Saucony Guide or Ride for the past 10 yrs. I run on average 10-15 mi/week on either pavement or treadmill. They usually rip on the inside of the back heel even though I use the extra hole when I lace them. I am willing to overlook that because I like the shoe. I ordered my usual size 7.5 this time and they seemed really short (Guide 18). So I ordered an 8 and they were waayy too big. Also, I felt like sole was too thick, almost like if i stepped on a pebble I would sprain my ankle. Kind of disappointed. I went with another brand this time. Hopefully will be back for the Guide or Ride 20.

Excellent running trainers
Good comfy running trainers; I bought my previous pair full price from a running shop so couldn't resist buying a reduced price pair for back-up.

Problem with the bases wearing down quickly

I love my saucony guides! They really have an amazing fit and have got me through. My problem with them though is the insane loss of traction on the bottom! I’ve run around 250 miles in them and they look like they have 500+ based on the bottoms. The exposed foam really ages them and although the support still feels good, the bottom is definitely wearing down.

I’ve bought three pairs!

I was wearing new balance 860v10 for years because I couldn’t find a stability shoe that worked for me. I resorted to looking on resale sites because no other shoe worked until I found the Guide 18. I bought one pair, and have already bought two more in different color ways. I’m currently training for NYCM and haven’t had any issues with this shoe. Overall great stability!

No stability or support!

I've purchased several versions of Guides and they continue to go downhill. Absolutely no ankle support and no arch support. Sprained my ankle walking after only a few times wearing. The cushion is there but it feels like it hits my foot at the heel, not the arch, making it even less stable. I only wear them at work now, not for exercise, and my feet and ankles hurt even after that. It's unfortunate because they were expensive, but if I can't even wear them to run errands or work, they're not a great product.

Disappointing

I have been a huge fan of the Saucony Guide for years, until they completely changed the construction of this shoe. The Guide 18 has a much wider toe box than the previous versions, the heel doesn't feel as secure and finally the arch support has decreased. Basically everything I loved about this shoe has been abandoned. It really lacks stability in my opinion.

No longer offers stability
Originally posted on Saucony

This is the third generation of Guides I have purchased to serve my active lifestyle with weak ankles. This new sole style is anything but stable! Previous generations of this shoe were great! These, however, resulted in a severely sprained ankle just a week or 2 after purchase. The new style of lacing isn't as secure, and the wide and long Hoka-like soles don't offer good balance. I'm grateful I didn't recycle my old pair, as I've been using those and have sent these new ones to the curb. Please bring back the stability of this formerly great shoe!!

Worst shoe
Originally posted on Saucony

This is the worst Saucony shoe I have ever worn. I’ve been walking and running in the Guide shoes the past 10 years. The Guide 18 shoe I received is larger than the stated size and the laces have to be pulled so tight, the shoes are uncomfortable to wear. The soles provide no cushion and little arch support.

I feel like I’m wearing my grandmas shoes!
Originally posted on Saucony
I looked like an escapee from Shady Maple nursing home. The new sole has no defining shape, it’s just a blob of foam. I’ve worn this model for years, and with each new pair I slip into its comfort right away. Not this time. The arch feels moved back ever so slightly, but enough that pressure is applied to my heel. The added foam tread in the bottom seems like an effort to look like sketchers. I’ve only put in a few days and will continue to give it more time, but hate to waste the money if they prove to stay uncomfortable.

New fave for marathon training
Originally posted on Saucony

I Iove these shoes. I previously ran in Hoka Bondi 9 but I would get such horrible blisters. These shoes give me all the same cushion but without the blisters. Really light, great option for marathon training I’d say. One caveat- after about 2-3 runs the exterior label on the shoe started to peel off. Still giving 5 stars because they are functionally a great shoe.

Favorite Running Shoe

Absolutely love this shoe for running distance and interval running. Ive struggled with chronic shin splints due to overpronation and running two days in a row has been impossible due to the pain I was experiencing in my shins. Have changed nothing in my routine but am wearing these shoes and have ran 4 days in a row with normal leg soreness in-between. The colors are also so cute! Loved them so much i bought a second pair. 4/5 stars because size 9.5 usually firs perfect for me but in these I had to go up to a 10.
