Glycerin 23 Running Trainers

The shoe is amazing as far as the fit. I was disappointed with the solid grey color I was wanting the bottom to be black like my last year’s pair. 😊

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These were comfortable right out of the box. It took a little while to adjust the laces where I wanted them but once I did, they were great. I have diabetics and neuropathy, so I have numbness in my feet. Wouldn’t notice it with these nice and soft with every step. my only complaint would be that the soul on the left shoe squeaks! Interestingly enough, it’s mostly when I’m outside, walking in damp or wet grass. I bought two pairs these and a pair of gray ones to replace two glycerin 22. They’ve been a great choice. I’ve been wearing Brooks shoes for probably 15 years now only disappointment I’ve had is the new ghost 18 or redesign was not comfortable.

I wanted the most comfortable, cushioned, springy shoes I could find. The Glycerine 23s are them! I’ve now bought two pairs, different colors. I think I’ll be getting a third for work purposes. I’ve also recommended them to many friends. I can’t speak highly enough of them. They seem to run a tad big but honestly my feet may have shrunk since I’ve gotten older. Ha

This pains me to write. I have worn the Glycerin for over ten years. It’s been my go to shoe. I am an under pronator (the term used to be supinator) and the wide stable forefront of the Glycerin has always provided the stabilization I needed. The shoe seems to be getting narrower in the toe box and my foot is beginning to roll out in a way I’ve never experienced with previous versions. The other gripe I have is the tongue. Enough with the extra padding already. This version is too thick.

I recently bought glycerine shoes, i really love them as they are light weight and some cushion is there while walking or running. they are making me better runner!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shoe as a whole, is decent, in comparison to other shoe brands. However for brooks standard and most importantly the standard that the Glycerin 22 set up the year prior, it falls short. Not only is it not as comfortable as last years model, but they also feel cheaper somehow.

Shoes run way too small, felt like it was a full size off.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Brooks, and these shoes feel amazing overall. Unfortunately, the toe box on the right shoe creased almost immediately and now presses uncomfortably against my big toe. I’ve tried using a blow dryer with socks stuffed inside the shoe and even purchased toe box crease guards, but neither solution has fixed the problem. I’ve experienced the same issue with a pair of Ghosts I purchased a few years ago and initially assumed I had just received a defective pair. Since this appears to be a recurring issue (all over reddit), I really wish Brooks would redesign or reinforce the toe box. It’s difficult to justify the price when the shoes begin breaking down and become uncomfortable after only a few wears.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Although very comfortable cushion wise, I feel like the sizing is completely off. I normally get the ghost line of shoe and wanted to try something new. I ordered in the same size I normally get plus wide fit but my foot was completely cramped so I returned them. My toes were rubbing against the end of the shoe! I am contemplating trying again but getting a half size larger and instead of just wide getting extra wide.

Run 5-10 miles a week, walk about 5 miles a week in these and they only lasted four months. My glycerin 22’s are still going strong almost a year in with more walking on them and more running in the past. The bottoms are more worn and the lining inside both shoes are torn on the back of the shoe from wear on the 23’s. They’re no longer comfortable to wear as if the cushion is compacted even though it’s thicker than the previous version. Started developing weird injuries which is why I started running less, went back to the 22’s and everything went back to normal. Also the toe box is supposed to be wider but my toes always feel cramped. Going to buy as many 22’s as I can and hope the 24 is better.

The cushioning on the Glycerin 23s is outstanding which makes them comfortable for walking or running. The heel lock at the back of the shoe is an effective feature for keeping my feet from coming out. That does make putting the shoes on a little more difficult but the loop at the back eliminates that issue. The toe box seems smaller than on my other Brooks shoes. Perhaps because of the superior cushioning, the shoe has a stability issue, although slightly improved from the 22s, which could be a concern for some when walking on uneven terrain or stairs. The color selection could be improved.
