It's a stylish lamp but as others have said - VERY bright. If the glass was smoky instead of plain it might dull the brightness so I had to buy a much lower wattage - 3w equivalent. You must used the correct rated bulb or it will overheat which it did with the first bulb I used. I thought I'd bought the right E27 but clearly it was the wrong rating because it blew and the second bulb made an electrical smell. It works fine now but just rather bright.

Stylish bedside light
I am very pleased with this lamp, it is stylish and well made. As has been mentioned in other reviews the light is very bright. I bought it as a bedside lamp and it is good for reading by but I have to have it pointing away from me when not reading.
