This coat is very warm, very comfortable, and a good fit. It is also waxed, which makes it waterproof - something that's essential in British wintertime!

I can't say anything bad the coat keeps me warm- although you could have more varety and trousers too, skinny fit willnot do, standard fit always. This coat is warm and nice - from the 60s i shopped at marks,.you don't do short nor long .

Bought this for my brother for Christmas but gave it to him last week as weather becoming colder. He was really pleased, good fit and really warm. Excellent value for money.

Several years ago my wife bought me the earlier version of this jacket… and 15 years down the line M&S doesn’t appear to have learned its lesson. First off, I went into the Oxford Street branch to try on the coat before I ordered online. And thank god I did. Though the jacket I was wearing was a 2XL, I couldn’t get an M&S 3XL coat to go anywhere near me. Hence I had to order a 4XL. The sizings are ridiculous. However, my biggest grip is the zip. I had to stop wearing the coat my wife got me because the zip didn’t work properly. One could spend up to five minutes trying to get the zip to work, and the knack that worked one day wouldn’t work the next. I got so sick of the frustration of a zip that simply wouldn’t do its job that I eventually gave the coat to a charity shop. 15 years down the line and I but the coat… and guess what. The zip is still not working. Every single time I put the coat on I spend several minutes trying to get the zip to work – which if nothing else provides entertainment for those watching me. Definitely one to avoid.

Very warm and good quality jacket

This is the third item I have purchased on-line and each item was disappointing ,I will in future not purchase on-line but in-store.

I've been looking for a jacket which has a big chest pocket and this jacket looked like it ticked all the boxes for winter. Warm, lots of (zipped) pockets - I saw there was no mention of a hood, but decided to order it any way as it may have been a detail that had been omitted, but unfortunately this wasn't the case - it doesn't have a hood :( and alas had to go back as it rains a lot in London ! I do wish M&S sought feedback on their clothes before ordering them - my search for the perfect coat continues !

Lovely and warm jacket, perfect for winter, but as another reviewer commented - the outer zip is a devil to zip up and a nightmare to undo again! We even asked the assistant to help as we thought we were mising something - but he struggled with it too (not just us then!). We tried three different jackets - but they all had the same problem. That said, we have bought the jacket as it is perfect in every other way - we just hope that the zip will get easier over time (hence 4 stars).

Received the coat today, looked good until I tried to undo the zip. Almost impossible as it was so tight, eventually managed to yank it open to try it on. A good fit and I was very pleased with it, the next problem was trying to fasten the zip up again !! Impossible to do while wearing the coat, Still trying to figure out how to do it.

Nice well lined with fleece lining and double zip up with two good sized on sides and one on chest useful for a mobile phone I tried another jacket before this but this one far better as it also has waist draw cords which will be handy in cold winter winds not hand chance to wear yet but I'm ready for the colder weather.

I thought the tabs on the blue jacket looked a bit orange. Not wanting Himself to look like he'd got tangled up in an emergency cord, I sent for both colours just in case. As it turns out, the tabs are terracotta, like the jacket lining. The silver jacket, on the other hand, has a strange sheen to the material, a bit like a 1980's Depeche Mode suit. (Other 80s bands are available.) We kept the blue!
