Embroidered A-Line Skirt

Once again I thought it looked good on line but when I tried it on it did not suit me.

I was really looking forward to this skirt. It was a nice length and the embroidery looked really pretty in the photo. However, the skirt had an elastic waist band, not good, and was quite loose. Also, the colours chosen for the embroidery were very strident, not at all subtle as the photo had intimated. I was very disappointed it could have been so much better.

I was surprised that this skirt has an elasticated waist. It fits well though and is very pretty. I would have preferred it to have been a little shorter. The embroidered over skirt is A bit too long. The lining is about the right length overall. I have kept the skirt, I chose not to send for the matching blouse , it made the outfit a little too expensive . It is feminine and I will though need to search for an appropriate top to finish the outfit.

After reading other reviews, I bought size smaller - sz 8 when I'm usually 10 - and it fits perfectly if not still a bit large around the waist. I'm only 5'2" and as you can imagine it becomes a maxi skirt for me. Having said that it works as long skirt, at least I like it so all good. If you want midi length and are short person like me, you'd be disappointed because M&S seems to think average height in women is 6' these days.

This is a very pretty and unusual skirt. I loved it but sadly am completely the wrong shape for it. I have narrow hips and a large waist so even tho' I am a 5'6'' size 12 the elasticated waist emphasised my fat middle and I looked dumpy in it. If you are an hour glass or pear shape with a relatively neat waist it will look fabulous.

Bought to wear with black tops looked really nice. Had a size smaller & it fitted perfectly.

Tried this on today it was too big + no smaller size available. It looks very pretty on website but I felt as though I should be running down a hill singing a medley out of the sound of music. But the embroidery was perfect no loose threads

Really liked this skirt. The length was great, the midi lengh over skirt and shorter underskirt very flattering.The embroidery was lovely.

I saw this beautiful material with black lining and bright floral embroidery and hoped that i could wear it to attend a wedding. I am currently a size 16. I bought the skirt in two sizes: 14 and 16. Both sizes were far too big for me. I downsized to a 12 which fitted!! When I looked in the mirror, the skirt looked ludicrous. The lining was about six inches above the hem line and looked shabby! Who designs your clothes? And where is your quality control? I returned the skirts; the assistant agreed with my opinion and labelled them to be returned to the manufacturer on the basis of wrong sizing. She , like myself, also thought that the lining had been made short in error!. Very disappointed.

I ordered this skirt on line but it was too big so I returned it. Unfortunately M&S were sold out of the smaller size.

The fabric is really pretty but the style is unflattering as it is very full and gathered with elasticated waist which makes you look very fat! I returned it.

I liked the idea of the matching skirt and top The skirt was a comfortable fit and a good length, but it did not sit well .I ,like many other more mature customers was not happy with the half lining. However the top is lovely and will look fine with a long black skirt

Saw this skirt as I was heading for the escalator, they only had 3 small sizes left (10's and 12) but loved it so much I looked it up online when I arrived home and bought it without having a try on. I'm not really an internet shopper as I am 5ft 10" and so many clothes just don't fit me. Having read other peoples reviews while I was waiting for it to arrive I really did expect it to look too short and how surprised I am to say it looks fabulous. It does not show my knees, it goes to the bottom of my knee cap. I don't want to wear a mini skirt! In fact I stopped writing this review and tried it on again and sat down wearing it in front of a mirror just to check what it would look like if i was out for a meal. The plain black lining still goes to the bottom of my knees when sat down and it doesn't show the sides of my legs either as there is enough fabric for it to fall softly. The fabric isn't stiff with lovely colours. I really wish the matching top was more exciting with a more flattering V neck not a high round neck.

This skirt is absolutely gorgeous. It is very, very similar to an Erdem dress that cost a great deal of money! This too has a see through hem which is not a problem. As an older lady I find the skirt extremely flattering and my daughter in her thirties also purchased this product- very classy! I would agree to go down a size as waist is rather large but otherwise well done Marks and Spencer's for producing such a great skirt.
