marc p. Ok but improvements could be made Nice look piece from a distance - needs a material on the bottom to stop it scratching / damaging surfaces and the pestel (when cleaned) seeps through the wood on to the bowl creating dark patches. Expected better in all honesty.

diesel1010 Ingenious I waited for this to be in the sale as it is a tad expensive but like all JJ items they are quality. It seems to grind well and I like that the bamboo lid serves as a cover. Ingenious to have pestle in the lid.

Joanne_Mc The pestle and mortar ever! Beautifully crafted, amazingly tactile, aesthetically pleasing and the best pestle and mortar I've come across. It was just what I was looking for. The shape and feel of the pestle is really lovely and it makes a really satisfying noise when you are grinding. The bamboo lid is a game changer for keeping herbs/spices covered and a place for the pestle to go on top. It's perfect, I love it!
