Great quality, excellent fit, weighty material, smart

I’ve bought the crepe tab detail trousers previously but have recently lost some weight and needed a smaller size. I bought them in black but I’m not sure the fabric is as good quality as those I bought a couple of years ago however they are still very good for the price. Strangely, the fabric of the cream pair I bought earlier in year is different, heavier weight and more like the old black ones I have. The one thing I’m still struggling with is why have both the tab detail to pull the waist in a little and also have belt loops. I find by adjusting the tab it causes the fabric to bunch! But if you wanted to add a belt the tab makes the belt bulge out at the back. One or the other please! I bought a 10 long and at 5ft 7 found them just slightly too long for flats but regular is too short, otherwise they are a good fit.

I already had the cream pair so decided to buy the black. The quality is fantastic, quite heavy but great for Autumn and Winter. The fit is good too. I am a petite at only 5 foot tall. The wide leg is good not too wide and the short length is perfect for me even with flats. Very smart.

Very happy to pick up a pair of these trousers in the sale. Got the cream and they are so nice I may be tempted to get another colour. M&S please restock in the taupe and maybe introduce brown? Great fit and quality fabric which hangs nicely.

Material is thick so it drapes well and does not crease as easily. I love the cream colour as it works well with most of my pastel tops in my closet. My only gripe is the crepe tab detail at the back because it works and it does not work at the same time. I am 25 inches around my waist, so size UK 6 still fits quite loosely. The only way I can get the pants to sit snug around my waist is to have the crepe tab pulled in to its maximum. That creates this awkward fold line across the stitching of the butt line. Also, pulling the crepe tab to its maximum means there is extra fabric from the ends of the crepe flopping around as there is no pocket or belt hoop to hide it properly. The pants looks best with a belt around it, but with the crepe tab the belt is not able to sit flush against the pants, which makes the belt bulge from the back. I had my reservations with the pants but since the colour, material and how it looks at the front was fine, I kept it anyway. But these points are unique to my waistline being a lot smaller, so it may very well fit other ladies fine if the pants fit your waistline fine.

These trousers are really nice, they are heavy and well tailored. The fit is perfect so I’m very pleased.

A beautiful pair of trousers that fit perfectly. The material is superb, just the right length and high waited. An ideal edition to any winter wardrobe.

I really like these trousers although the tab detail is puzzling- if you want to use a belt it’s in the way, if you don’t the belt loops, without a belt, look unfinished in my opinion.
