Sizing for petites is not good anymore

I wear WS petite sizes but for this skirt, the sizing was so wrong. It was much too tight round the waist/hips and I couldn’t get into it. At the same time I ordered a petite pair of shorts and they were a perfect fit so there doesn’t seem to be any consistency in sizes anymore or lack of quality control to check sizing is correct. Sadly had to return and couldn’t be bothered to order the next size up as I don’t trust that not to be absolutely huge, plus I’d bought the skirt with 20% off so would have had to have paid full price too. Disappointed ☹️

I'm pretty pleased with the skirt. The denim is a bit heavier than I'd like for Summer and the internal button will need sewing on firmly, but in all it's good value. The other issue is that it tends to fall open when I'm seated, so will probably need a popper to be added halfway down (a good idea from another review).
