Sticky face in heat

Not to be worn in the sun or on a hot day the cream makes your face awkwardly sweating creating spots by end of day from constantly wiping your face because of the cream. The face wash is still good twice a day. Dissatisfied and over priced

I don't understand why people leave such negative reviews for this product.I almost made a mistake and didn't buy it.I have a dry sensitive skin and this moisturizer is just fantastic.I'm in tropical country and didn't burn myself yet and getting very nice tan too:) It moisturizes my skin very well. Also it doesn't irritate my eyes like most of moisturizers with SPF would. Highly recommended product for somebody with dry and/or sensitive skin.

Terrible product for the summer

I have been using clinique products for many consecutive years across their wide range - never have I been so disappointed in a product. It has made my T zone greasy and shiny, giving me a bad case of black heads all over, while the rest of the face feels sticky and 'heavy' - not at all light or absorbent. It is that much worse that I personally inquired about this in two london concessions, having been assured that this was going to be a good choice for my acne-prone skin. Customer Service on-line was also of little support - very badly let down by clinique, their product and their services both in store and on-line.

Makes my skin shiny and not hydrated

I really wanted to like this.. I researched so many Clinique products and went to 3 different stores and asked the Clinique assistants which they thought is best, they all suggested this one, its supposed to protect against blue light, UVA, have caffeine and all amazing ingredients but it made me look greasy and dried me out, where I saw one of the first ingredients is alcohol... I normally LOVE Clinique but this one really disappointed me, I can't believe I wasted this money.

Fantastic for travellers and outdoor types

I've been using this moisturiser for over a year now and it is hands down the best I've ever had. I have non-greasy skin, and have been using Clinique Men's products for a long time, after having used Clarins and other manufacturers beforehand. I was drawn to this product due to the factor 40 SPF rating and I have not been disappointed. I travel a great deal for work down to Latin America and therefore get exposed to a lot of high-UV sunlight and this moisturiser keeps my face sunburn free and supple. From my experience of Clinique products, if you suffer from oily / greasy skin this might not be for you (Clinique has specific oil control products) but for "normal" skin this is perfect. It also lasts for months as you only need two to three tiny squirts on your palm to cover the face and neck.

Only useful on oily skin

I desperately want to find a decent moisturiser with SPF, and I was attracted by the high SPF count. But the moisturiser didn't feel much cop - my skin feels tight when I use this and it turns my skin shiny. I think this is a poor moisturiser. It's shocking, in this day and age, that Clinique cannot seem to produce a decent moisturiser with SPF.

I used this product in the morning and entered a club with UV light in the afternoon. This cream made me look like a ghost and I had all the laughs. Thank you Clinique! I am not happy with this product. Expensive and useless. I am a DJ that is often in a UV light environment :-(

Hoping for a holy grail SPF
Originally posted on clinique.co.uk
Pros: 1) Lightweight 2) No white cast 3) Moisturising 4) Good ingredients that go very well with sunscreen (Vitamin BCE & Citric Acid) and also has Hyaluronic Acid. 5) Nice packaging 6) No fragrance and no smell of SPF (although there is a smell of alcohol that evaporated very quickly once applied) Cons: 1) Greasy look 2) Doesn't offer a great sun protection 3) Use of Titanium Dioxide (at the very bottom of the ingredients list) instead of chemical sunscreens of even Zinc Dioxide 4) Has alcohol in it I bought this product at the store a few weeks after it came out. I was using Japanese SPF prior that. I use retinoid at nights and I have to use at least SPF 30 during the day. I was disappointed that my couple of months work on Retinoid ruined by using this sunscreen for one day. I had to start all over again at the time and never use this product since because of the fear. Maybe I wasn't use it right but I do use quite a lot of it at the time. Anyway, this product is not for me although Clinique DDMG is a holy grail product for me and I was expecting DDMG (non-greasy) with a great sun protection. Maybe it is more of a moisturiser than a sunscreen and maybe it's not for oily skin type.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback which is important to us. This is a lightweight gel hydrating moisturiser suitable for a oily skin that boosts the skin and to protect the skin from environmental damage. The level of SPF is 40 which is high level however as you have said it may have been the feel of this moisturiser that has not worked for you as it is more gel based and does not feel like the DDMG. Please come and visit Live Chat where we will be happy to discuss moisturiser's and which will suit your skin and work with the products you are already using.

I received a sample of this from the helpful clinique staff when purchasing clinique maximum hydrator. The first time I used it I was impressed at how soft it left my skin. However after using now for a week, my skin looks greasy and it has resulted in uneven looking skin and several spots. I'm really disappointed in this product.

I applied (after cleansing and exfoliating) but it made my skin so extremely shiny, oily-looking (I have dry skin) and my face looks so 'dirty' sweaty like I was in the dessert for 30 days without washing ! my pores were so dilated and my skin looked extremely greasy ! Very bad formula. I've been using Clinique for men since 1999 but I'm not satisfied with its new formulas sorry not for me !

As as long term and valued Clinique Customer, I am very sorry to hear that this new formula of moisturiser has not given your skin the boost and comfort it should have and the results. The formula is lightweight with a gel texture it may be that your skin type needs more comfort and a richer texture. Please visit Clinique Live Chat where we will be happy to offer skin care advice and look at other moisturiser's for you.
