Disappointing
I returned the pencil pleat curtains because a) the colour (champagne) suggests a light colour, as seen in the photographs, and the true colour is a dull beige/ oatmeal and b) the thick linings are bulky and I doubt that they will hang neatly, in folds.

Great curtains
Yes, I recommend this
I’ve had these curtains before they wash really well do not stink and don’t need ironing just hang them when nearly dry and the don’t crease.

Thicker than I expected.
Yes, I recommend this
Very pleased with these curtains as I needed warmth and 'blackout' but they would probably hang better as eyelet curtains than the pencil pleated version I purchased - sadly didn't realise this until I had gathered the first curtain making them non-returnable.

Soft colour & Very Impressive thermal/blackout
Yes, I recommend this
These curtains fit beautifully, the thermal layer is very thick, but soft and mailable unlike other brands I have had before.the finish is beautiful and matches our room and bedding perfectly.

Ok but could be better.
No, I don't recommend this
The good points to these curtains are they are thick, heavy and block out the light without a problem. The not so great points are the colour totally doesn’t match the pictures, thankfully I knew this from other reviews and took a punt on the champagne ones being darker. They are more of a light brown. The colour balance on the images requires some attention. They don’t pleat terribly well owing to the backing being heavier than the curtain material. What would have been handy was if M&S could just have samples of fabric for these available in store for online only items, at least it would save the majority of returns. They do the job but there is some disappointment with these overall.

I bought these for my bedroom. They are perfect. The colour is lovely and they block out the light which is what I wanted. I am delighted with them.

Good quality
Yes, I recommend this
Very well made curtains. I was surprised to see how warm they are. I have a set of velvet ultra thermal and thought they were warm but this one is much warmer. I agree with other people reviews, the curtains are too thick to plate them nicely, they are creased and maybe the colour is a bit boring but if you don’t care about that and want to have something that will keep the draft from single glazing windows away then this is the product to go for. I’m very happy with the purchase.

Good quality, thick curtains.
Yes, I recommend this
The curtains are much thicker than I had anticipated so when drawn back they bunch up. However when drawn together they are fine. May be better to hang on a pole but that is not an option in our house.

Excellent insulation
Yes, I recommend this
While the range of colours is beyond boring, the insulation is spectacular and keep that cold at bay.

Not the same colour as on the site
they're brown, not champagne. Not very happy at all.

On the dark side
No, I don't recommend this
No problem with quality, efficiency, etc it's just that I ordered Champagne curtain colour. When hung the curtains are far removed from the colour photo online. A dreary brownish colour is what I see. Have ordered non thermal curtains in Champagne some years back and they were what you would expect.

Not Ideal
No, I don't recommend this
These curtains which I bought two pair of and are now in use, unfortunately look and hang crap. They don't gather well when trying to form the pencil pleats they more like ruffles , so they don't hang well when layering them, and as far as getting the creases out of them with the iron impossible, I unpacked them and layed them over a rail for a week to see if that would help take the creases out or even help before I ironed them. Anyway I decided to use them anyway so they are in use in my bedroom they are great as a blackout curtain. And I won't have to look at them until I go to bed. I have made to measure curtains in my living/dining room from M&S and they are excellent and that's what I should have done in this case.

Black out thermal curtains
No, I don't recommend this
Bought two sets of these curtains opened the smaller of the two full of creases spent 2 hours ironing as advised ending up wetting a tea towel to try and get the bad ones out put them up they still have some creases in hopefully they will fall out. Whoever is packing your curtains needs to be told I have had a lot of curtains and have never had curtains that were so creased. I took the bigger ones back for a refund never opening them as I could not face ironing them. Come on MS what has happened to your quality control

Great quality
These are great quality, well made curtains. Very heavy, and do the job perfectly, keeping out the light and keeping in the warmth . A lovely soft feel . Really good fit the price , I would definitely recommend.

These are the worst curtains I’ve ever bought
No, I don't recommend this
This material and thickness of the curtains do not gather nicely, no matter what you do they look uneven and crumpled when gathered. More than that the fabric of the curtains even after you steam hold every single crease. These are just the most shocking curtains, they look cheap and they not fit for purpose.
