Slim style not slim fit
Yes, I recommend this
Beware: The title "Slim Trousers" refers to the style - i.e. slim leg - and doesn't mean slim fit. So, for example, the label on the age 4-5 size says 21.5" whereas a slim FIT is 20"

Trendy boys trousers
Yes, I recommend this
Nice slim legs and good fit but had to size down. My son is 11 and will be 12 in October but is quite small. Height 143 cams and ordered size 9-10 which are only just long enough but good fit elsewhere. Size 10-11 were just way too baggy on the hips and legs. Very nice trousers and apart from sizing issue they are great.

perfect school trousers
Yes, I recommend this
functional, hard-wearing yet trendy! My son is a picky teenager who usually refuses to wear my choices for him yet he accepted these without a murmur so i ordered a few pairs as I was onto a winner! Well made & a good price.

not perfect
No, I don't recommend this
The trousers described as slim fit are not as slim in the leg as supermarket trousers and are more expensive even with 20% off.

Ideal for thin legs.
Yes, I recommend this
Well fitting trousers for young men with thin thighs and legs. Look good as nothing worse than baggy trousers.

Teenage boy loves 'em
Yes, I recommend this
My son was after a straighter legged trouser without going for tight drainpipe style. These fitted the bill perfectly. Look smart, wash well - great addition to his school uniform.

Boys school trousers.
Yes, I recommend this
The pleats do not stay in well, looking somewhat limp after a few washes. Quality has been lost to cheaper and somewhat inferior product, I've purchased so many uniforms over the years (4 kids, with wide age gaps) Staff were excellent, plus quick delivery to my local store is great, a real bonus.

Terrible
No, I don't recommend this
The quality of these trousers for saying I am an avid Marks and Spencer shopper is terrible. My little boys first year at school so I trusted in Marks and Spencer for ALL his uniform and coat etc. Brought in September they have lasted only 3 months . Stitching undone and worn through the fabric! Terrible quality and the last time I will be purchasing school uniform from Marks and Spencer.

bought these trousers for my son who has a tiny waist and slim legs. they fit beautifully as we can adjust the waist and the leg fit is just right. have bought another pair.

Very poor quality!!! Please change supplier!!!
No, I don't recommend this
I brought these trousers after being recommended them by my sister last year. I brought 4 pairs, although I like the fit of them after 6 weeks back in school 2 pairs of them have split in the seems. They are very poor quality & I hope that the buyer for M&S reads these reviews and finds their original supplier, as they are selling an inferior product.

My son is slim waisted - these trousers fit very nicely and he says they are comfortable :-)

Good but not great
Yes, I recommend this
These are a good fit but the quality of material lets the product down. The material is quite thin and creases easily. The fit is very good, my son is slim and I have trouble getting a nice fit on his leg and bum. I probably would purchase again.

Poor quality
No, I don't recommend this
I have bought the pleat front style in previous years but they are so baggy I decided to try these this year. The fabric is so much thinner, the crease doesn't hold after washing and on almost all the pairs I bought (6 in total) the hem has come undone and I have had to re-sew them as I didn't want the hassle of trying to return them and order new ones as my local store doesn't stock them. So while the fit is good on both my boys, I have to agree with the other reviews that the quality is very disappointing given the price. I don't think I will buy them again unless the quality of the fabric is improved.

Best school trousers
Yes, I recommend this
The style and fit of these trousers is better than the others around and my son likes them. It will be M&S all the way for schoolwear now.

Disappointing, returned to shop
No, I don't recommend this
These trousers are nowhere near as good as the ones I bought last year. I returned them. The fabric is much thinner - not at all suitable for Autumn/Winter or boys falling over in the playground all the time - I suspect the knees would be worn through in days. My 5 year old son is still wearing last year's, though a little short in the leg, rather than keep the nw flimsy model. M & S please bring back item no. T76 00354/4711 (07454486), which is far superior. It is really difficult to get school trousers to fit a narrow-hipped, slender kid! There seems to be plenty on offer for larger kids, what about the others?

Thin fabric
No, I don't recommend this
Had to return these after only 5 weeks of wear, they were threadbare. Last year's trousers lasted from Sept-May. These were all style and no substance. Considering the price the quality is very poor

What has happened to the Modern Fit?
No, I don't recommend this
I bought these as M&S appears to have discontinued the Modern Fit. Why? These supposed slim fit trousers are inferior in every way. The fabric feels and looks cheap and they are baggier in the seat, hip and leg. I used to buy Modern Fit because my son is tall and thin. Why has M&S gone from the age specific Modern Fit, eg Age 9, Age 10 to Age 9-10 in this new design? When your child is tall and thin a "one size fits two year age span" won't wash. I suspect these trousers won't wash either - although I don't intend to keep them long enough to find out as they are going back to the store today.
