Lovely tipple

Yes, I recommend this

If you like a pinot you can't go too far wrong with this. Bought on recommendation from friend in the industry and can't fault him.

Over the hill

No, I don't recommend this

The 2010 vintage Pinot in my mixed case ("wine for each course" or some such) was oxidised and over the hill. Ten quid, no way.

Nice

No, I don't recommend this

A nice wine of this type, but nothing special. Probably a bit over priced, but if purchased at 25% off then worth giving a try as a change from claret or the southern reds.

A Pinot in the typical style of Burgundy

Yes, I recommend this

Fresh on the nose, the ripe berries immediately coat the pallete, soft and pleasant tannins, a hint of spice and the oak is definitely a great addition giving a touch of sweet vanilla on the nose and a more rounded feel on the palette which accompanies the spiciness. Overall, it's a pinot noir for a tenner, very helpful label for wine drinkers who may not be familiar with french wines, overall a nice approachable pinot which gives you a (slight) taste of what burgundy pinot is famous for.
