Bold Sculptural Fit & Flare Dress

Disliked the fabric, the fit (14) and the length (my knees were showing.) A better fabric and longer length would have been better to showcase the style. Lovely colour and lovely style. Too big. Returned. I may take a punt if I ever see it at half price but in a size 12.

I took a punt on this dress, despite its high neckline, which doesn't often suit me, because of the skirt detail. However, my issues with the dress are to do with the fabric. The dress has been made in a stiff jersey, but this does not work well. The edge of the seams at the puff on the side gaped on the dress I bought, and the whole effect is quite rigid and unflattering. I think that m and s should have used a different, probably dearer, fabric to achieve the balloon effect on the skirt. This would have made for a more expensive end product, but a successful one. When you think how much Westwood costs to achieve sculpted effects in fabric, I for one would have paid quite a bit more for this dress. Sadly,it's going back.

Flattering style & bit different with gorgeous panelled skirt with different lengths. Rich colour which was nicer than the photo. Will glam it up and wear to cocktail party. Generous size but as I don't like tight clothes good for me.

Lovely dress, I am over 50 and I love the fact it has no sleeves. Perhaps making this with and without would suit every customer. I hate that dresses for my age group often have sleeves.

Love this dress. Standout of the season. Looking forward to wearing on its own or with silky turtleneck underneath. Thank you m and s for doing something a bit different.

Very cool 3D design. The fabric is thick but light and warm, and very comfortable! My only request for the design team is the shoulder area. I'd say that women in their 40s and up, as I do, would like our shoulders to be covered at work. And a little more modest openings for the arm holes would be nice. I will be wearing a cardigan or a jacket over this dress at work most of the time for these reasons. Otherwise, a unique and lovely dress!

I love the flattering style and colour of this dress - it looks really original and can be worn sleeveless with a jacket now or over a polo neck jumper when it turns colder. The fabric is thick and heavy, but this emphasises the garment's cut. I was fortunate to get 20% off so good value for money BUT it took me 3 tries before I found one that was perfect and hung correctly. The first had been badly pressed and was wrinkled at the seams; the second was also badly pressed so instead of a pleated flare, the fabric hung oddly. Finally, I found one in store that looked good. Disappointing quality control.

Lovely dress and I will be wearing it for a Autumn wedding.

I ordered a size 6 which fitted perfectly but sleeveless for winter? there was no room to wear anything under and a cardigan over would spoil the look of the dress.

I applaud M&S for doing something unusual even though it not as flattering on me as I hoped. As I'm bottom/tummy heavy the bust area is big on me. I'll need to put darts in the bust area as my bra shows (but with the quirky asymetric seams I'm not worried about a perfect result). The dark colour, thick winter weight fabric is flattering. I'm an odd shape but I can see how it will be very flattering on others, either by adding curves to the hips on those who have little or hiding them on those with plenty.

I loved the pleated styling on this as it made it a bit different but didn't realise until I got it that the pleats hid a front split which then made the pleats splay outwards which I didn't like (on me). But lovely colour and great fabric. There were too may alterations I'd have wanted to make to this dress to get it to fit me 100% so at full price I sent it back but well done M&S for even producing it. More like this please but a better overall fit - !

I wanted to really like this dress - when I first saw it online I got very excited - right colour, shape and style. Soooo disappointed - too large on top and around waist , bolstery and bulky on the bust and an unyielding scuba type fabric. It could also have done with being a longer length to balance out the shape. Couldn't cope with the back zip either. Sent it back.

Loved the look of this dress and ordered online. Ordered a 10 but absolutely enormous and because of the stiffness of the fabric looked even bigger so unflattering. Disappointed. Couldn't reorder smaller as had disappeared off listing online so returned.
