The old formula was soooooo much better

I do not like this new formula. I have used be curly curl enhancer for ten years plus. It has been brilliant for my curls and loved jt. This new formula however is so different. Dont know what you have done but now on the lookout for something else. This is not dor mw anymore. Disappointing.

Please bring back old formula

I've used curl enhancer for years but am looking around for an alternative product since Aveda changed the formula. Old curl enhancer used to emulsify with a little water and sit in hair softly giving a naturally controlled curly look. This new formula is runny but dries in the hair leaving a stiff hard surface that doesn't feel or look natural - more like a gel or stiff hairspray look. Please bring back the old formula.

Please bring back the old formular

I have used the full range of be curly products for many years, but since the introduction of 'advanced' I have stopped using them altogether! I am so disappointed. I am trying other products by Aveda but nothing is as good for my hair as the old formular be curly. I think after many years of exclusively using Aveda products I will have to try something else.

PLS bring back original BE CURLY curl enhancer

So devastated after using original for over 20 yrs this new formula leaves my hair flat fluffy & no curl definition. The formula is similar to many products on the market that just don't work. It's just too creamy .. the original was slippy if that makes sense .. please just bring back that product in the original range.

I have fallen in love with this improved product

I have been a buying aveda products for about 5 years and used the old curl enhancer cream. It would go through a tube within 2 months for me and My daughter long curly hair. It did the trick. But this new product is so much better. It coats the hair perfectly and no need to overuse the product. If used correctly on wash day and the day after I have enjoyed my curls for up to 7 days. It is better used along side the gel and crunching is essential to take away that straggly look. I have read the reviews and seen it is a mixed bag. But with frizz prone curls I appericate the thickness and weight of the curl enhancer cream. It smells lovely and even my dead ends curl beautifully with this product. It is expensive and I do feel there is a curly hair tax to enjoy our natural hair. I would love to see a kids version of the product or children's range . In addition due to the cry out for the old product why couldn't aveda have 2 versions of the product and bring back the old formulation of the curl cream.

I loved the original curl enhancer - this new one is nothing like it and just makes my hair feel heavy and greasy/ dirty - is there any likelihood of the original coming back ?

Not the same as the old formula- really disappointing

The new formula does not create the same curls as the old one. I have a small tube of the old one and have done comparisonsÖ. Consistently poor results. If you can not return to the old formula, Can you tell me what is removed so I can look for that in other products? Unfortunately would no longer recommendÖ.

Please tell us ...

... why you replaced this product with the original formula. There are clearly a lot of unhappy people. Is it something to do with the wheat protein that was in the last product and shrank as it dried, enhancing the curls? I notice that this product does not contain that. Your very loyal Be Curly customers would be very grateful if you could let us know why!

I just don't understand the bad reviews

Adds much more volume and gives great curls, compared to the original formula. I use it with retexturing gel/ confixor liquid gel and dry with diffuser, it does take bit longer but the end result is good!

Even better than the original trio
Originally posted on Aveda UK
I have been using Aveda be curly for decades, I have naturally curly fine red hair which curls into ringlets and loves moisture. The Aveda be curly range is the only trio (shampoo, conditioner and curl enhancer cream) that gives me great curls without a sticky crunch, which pastes my curls to my head. The advanced range is even better, the shampoo is so moisturising and the conditioner is lovely. With the curl enhancer cream, I can air dry or diffuse and my curls hold for 3 days. Love it !!

Devastated
Originally posted on Aveda UK
I have used the original curl prep and enhancer for about 14 years and have been so happy with it. People stopped me on the street to ask what I used on my curls and I happily recommended Aveda curl products but not anymore. The new formula for the curl enhancer is absolutely diabolical. Please take note of these dreadful reviews, listen to the consumer and bring back the original product. We'll all be waiting with open wallets.

So poor compared with the original
Originally posted on Aveda UK
Like many other reviewers I have used this product for decades and it was brilliant. I bought the new version not realising it is completely, shockingly, different. It weighs my hair down, is heavy & sticky and, as if that weren't enough, does nothing to stop the frizz or encourage curls like the old one used to. It's so terrible I almost called for a refund. I would give it zero stars if I could. I won't be buying again unless Aveda decide to reinstate the original formula (please, please consider this Aveda!)

Please bring back the original

The old version of Be Curly Curl Enhancer worked brilliantly, defined curls and felt weightless. The new product makes hair feel sticky and weighed down. Rather than enhances curls, it weighs the hair down and takes the springiness out of the curl. I don't know why Aveda changed such a fantastic original product. Please bring back the old formula.

Devastated

I have been using Aveda Be Curly curl enhancer for longer than I care to remember and must have quite literally spent tens of thousands of pounds on it. It was THE only curl product I ever used. This new supposed 'enhanced' (it most definitely is not!) is a total disaster and nowhere near as good as the original. The other one had wheat protein in it which I think contracted as the hair dried giving really well defined curls ... this version doesn't seem to have that. The texture and smell is not as nice either ... and I get frizzy hair really quickly. If anyone knows a good alternative out there I'd love to know what it is. Why on earth would they change such a popular product beats me,
