I dont understand why Clinique have decided to tamper with this once lovely perfume. I to have worn this once gorgeous perfume for over 30 years. Its the end of an era for me & im so sad. It now has the aroma of an old out of date perfume & has no longevity to it. Its just like spraying smelly water??

Aromatics Elixir
Originally posted on Clinique UK
As duty free was out of stock I ordered this perfume online. The packaging was the same but when I tried the perfume I immediately thought I had purchased a FAKE. Nothing about this perfume was the same. I have used this perfume for at least 30 years and have had so many compliments, but this bears no resemblance to the original. It doesn't have the same rich tones and undertones and it lasts less than an hour. I have a tiny amount of the original left and I am treating it like gold. For very special occasions only!!

You have diluted your product!!!!??
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I have used Aromatics for YEARS!! I always get compliments when I where it. People ask the name of it and have gone to buy it. Now, you have more than watered down the perfume and body moisturizer to the point of not being able to smell it when I wear it. People have stopped asking. You have an outrageous price on itÖand I figured that I was worth it. But WTH??? Why have you diluted the product??? It is NOT worth the price to me if it has lost its potency. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I will have to look for perfume elsewhere. Not that I want to. But I feel that you have deceived the public who have supported you for years!! Shame on you Clinique! You may have just lost a lot of business. What is your excuse for this??? I would love to know why you have messed with perfection.

Just not the same.

Totally agree with all the reviews, absolutely changed and spoilt. Just not the same perfume anymore . I have been wearing the perfume for years and years and it stayed wonderful all day and always got loads of compliments. Now I won't buy it at the price for a changed version and so disappointed . I tried a sample the other day and it didn't last long , I couldn't smell it and it had a completely different tone . So I've stopped buying it as well . The colour even looks darker in the bottle.

I lave worn this beautiful perfume for over 40 years. But not any more.., The scent would last for hours but it no longer does My husband says he can't smell it like he used to. You'll loose thousands of customers worldwide with this dreadful new version. Please don't ask me to contact you direct. Please reply here, so everyone else can read your response. I'm not the only one disappointed with the change. I really hope you revert back to the original version. It was absolutely gorgeous.

Love of my life
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I absolutely love this perfume, my mum used to wear it when I was little, and it kinda set the tone for my scent attraction. I completely forgot about this perfume, and one day I accidentally attracted by the clean and minimal design of the bottle, and the beautiful colour of amber through the translucent glass, and I know it is the one. Clinique please keep them forever!

What's happened!

Was gifted a 100ml bottle at Christmas and as this is a classic I have worn for years I was looking forward to wearing it and receiving the compliments. But where previously the fragrance lasted all day I'm not convinced this new one even lasted an hour. The price is still the sameÖbut what have you done Clinique, that's me on the hunt for a new perfume now.

Ruined my favourite perfume
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I have worn this perfume continually for 30 years. What have they done to it? It's a shadow of its former self. Historically you would spray in the morning and wear all day. Even clothes worn a second time would have a lasting aroma on them days later. Now it's like water and the smell is gone in minutes. It's all about saving money for the manufacturer, not keeping loyal customers happy. I'd prefer they put the price up and brought back the original recipe, not sell this lame copy. I certainly won't be buying it again in its current guise again.

What have you done CliniqueÖ.

I recently treated myself to a new bottle of Aromatics Elixir, which I've been using for 30 plus years. Wish I'd read the reviews first, but then why would you expect a company to butcher a classic fragrance like this? I'd come back to it again and again after dabbling with other fragrances and it never disappointed, till today. What's changed? Well it's an entirely different colour than my 'original' but sadly very depleted bottle, it smells totally different on first application, and barely lasts an hour, so I can't comment on the middle or base notes, they don't exist! I'd always catch a smell of the original at various times through the day, and frequently got comments about it. Can't smell a thing an hour later. Feels like I've bought a supermarket clone fragranceÖ but not at clone prices! What have you done Clinique and why, why, why? Makes me wonder what else you're cutting corners on and whether your other products are still worth the loyalty.

Not as it used to be!

I was delighted to receive this as an early Christmas present from a friend. It's one of my favourite and comparing it to a bottle half used and about 5 years old, it's not the same and does smell as nice and the smell fades an hour or two after putting it on. My old one still lasts all day and when wearing it, I gain lots of compliments. Very disappointed as the prices haven't reflected the poor product.

What's happened?

I have always loved this perfume and have previously had people stop me to ask what it is. I recently bought my latest bottle but the smell is weaker. I have to spray far too much for anyone to smell it. It's definitely changed. I'm so disappointed ??. Why do companies have to do this when they had a perfect product in the first place!

Should be marketed under new name
Originally posted on Clinique UK
Like many fragrances used by my generation we find the we return to those ones we loved in the past. I was curious that you mention Oak Moss as a base note. Because, the difference in the new formula was explained in a review I read as being down to the omission of Oak Moss owing to EU rules. Oak Moss being now a conservation issue. So if it's claimed to be in there what is the reason for it smelling so different from the old formula? I have an old bottle with some left and it is much more substantial and full bodied - the fragrance of your current product is that of a knock off product - not like one from the genuine manufacturer. Is it watered down? What's going on Clinique? It's not horrible but it really is so different from before. BTW It's not the only fragrance to suffer in this way.

Start listening to feedback and FIX THIS!

Exactly what do you need to read or hear before you return this perfume to the way it used to smell? Rather than copying and pasting the same link over and over again in ROBOTIC feedback to loyal clients of decades, actually take the time to explain why you changed the formula and what you're doing to restore it after the overwhelming negative feedback you got. That's what any self-respecting brand would do if it cared about its customers. We don't need you to thank us for our feedback and tell us that you care about it and send us to other links to repeat it, just to give us the fake impression that you're actually doing something. These our the reviews. You changed a long-loved formula. Loyal buyers are furious. FIX IT. Stop deflecting. If you had to cut costs, explain. If some ingredient has become mysterious extinct, explain. Whatever you do, understand that it's MISLEADING communication and UNETHICAL marketing to change a product and sell it under the same name as a previous one without communicating the drastic change and giving buyers the chance to act according. It is in fact a form of theft.

Why do you ignore the bad reviews
Originally posted on Clinique UK
I have complained about the cheap nasty product that aromatics has become and can not understand why a company would look at so many similar reviews and bury their heads in the sand. It is no longer an exclusive product that was a joy to wear. Because of your attitude and not restoring the product to its former glory I refuse to purchase your other products.

Decided to revert back to an old fragrance I used to wear religiously- I am so disappointed this is nothing like the AE I wore a few years ago - it's like a completely different perfume - a poor imitation. So sad an iconic perfume has gone.

My mom has used this for years. We bought her some for Christmas. Having seen these reviews I asked her about it. She said it didn't seem to last. She's 89 but now having to find a new one. My sister in law and I had both switched but you have lost us too
