Great cakes but didnt go through letterbox

Lovely box of cakes and the recipient was very pleased with the gift, however it was left outside by the delivery man. Not sure if thara because the box wasnt letter box size or the lazy dpd driver. But the person was recovering from an operation so I didnt want them to get up to receive the gift and they didnt hear anyone knock so luckily someone came over or they wouldnt have known it was outside. Not marks and spencers fault but maybe they should use royal mail instead and check the box sizes.
