3pk Post Surgery Pockets (Left)

I had a mastectomy four years ago following a diagnosis of breast cancer. Having a prosthetic breast I thought that I would have to get rid of all of my bras without pockets. I was recommended the breast pockets and for something so simple they are brilliant. They hold my prosthetic breast safely and fit comfortably in my bras without pockets. Fantastic value and I would definitely recommend them.

I bought an M&S prosthesis and post-surgery pockets after having my breast implant removed. It was originally inserted after a mastectomy, but I developed severe capsular contracture post-radiotherapy and the implant had to be removed. Surgeons advised against replacing with a new implant, so I’m having lipomodelling / fat grafting to replace the lost volume. This will be done in several surgeries over the next 12-18 months so until I’m back to a more normal size, I will use a prosthesis and post-surgery pocket. I’m normally a size 34D and I found the ‘medium’ pocket with a ‘small’ prosthesis fitted well. However, I do already have a small amount of tissue on the mastectomy side from the first round of fat grafting, plus latissimus dorsi muscle flap from the original reconstruction. The only improvement would be if M&S could make the loop strap on the pocket a little longer, and with more poppers so you can adjust the height the pocket hangs at. I’m only 2 weeks post-surgery so using mastectomy and sports / compression bras. These have much thicker straps than normal bras, and the staps finish much higher up the chest. But the strap loop on the prosthesis pocket is very short so it only just fits round the thick straps of sports / post-surgery bras. Because the loop is so short it also means you can’t really adjust the height the pocket sits at, so it hangs quite high on sports and post-surgery bras. Means the prosthesis sits much higher than the healthy breast! Otherwise very comfortable and would recommend. Very grateful to M&S for continuing to support the breast cancer / mastectomy / reconstruction community.

Product does the job perfectly. I would prefer to be able to purchase single colour in the packet rather than three different.

This a very good idea, to be able to put a pocket in any bra, rather than wear a post surgery bra, which in my opinion the M&S ones are frumpy and dull. When the pockets were introduced you could buy single white ones which was a better idea, as I only wear white bras.

This prosthesis pocket was suggested by the prosthetic’s fitter as my hospital. I read the reviews but really wondered if they were talking about the same product I had received. Firstly, despite it saying ‘right’ or ‘left’ I couldn’t see where that was a choice but I bought it anyway and ended up with the correct side! The cotton is extremely thin and the gap to place the prosthesis quite small so it doesn’t just slip in - or at least mine didn’t. It makes switching between bras something of a hassle! The tab at the top to secure it in place is pointless. My bra holds it in place! It isn’t going to go anywhere so I’ve chopped it off! And why three? One flesh coloured one is all that is required so if you require a left and right, you have to make two purchases and end up with six pockets when you only need two!!

Bought because I wanted to be able to wear bras that are not post surgery bras and therefore widen the choice of bras available to me. Nice material and happy with the way the pocket fastens to bra. Only tried with light weight prosthetic - the pocket ‘travelled’ out of the cup of my bra. Will try again with a heavier prosthetic to see if it sits better and remains in the cup
