Shrinks when washed. Wide top discontinued why?

These are good but with a tendency to shrink when washed, therefore 4 stars not 5. Sadly they seem to have been removed from stock now, and there is no similar alternative offered for those needing the wider top option. Why, oh why does M&S stock a good basic product for only a short time and then remove it?
